Michael Collins (DVD, 1997)

great movie, I guess in the mind of every Irishman this movie tells how the British have caused great pain and suffering to the Irish people. this story gives me great pride to be of Irish roots.

Simply an amazing movie. The only thing that struck me wrong was the part played by Julia Roberts, Otherwise 5 stars.

If you are of Irish Heritage, have an interest in Irish Stories, and/or the IRA this movie is definitely one to watch.

great story, very close to the real thing, and lots of action. If you love ireland get this movie!..

This movie is a fantastic movie. It is like Brave Heart of the 20th century!

A deceased relative of mine used to send Bernadette Devlin $500 a month for most of his life. I only mention this to illustrate what a pro-Free Ireland atmosphere I lived in, even in America. While neither my pocketbook, nor perhaps sentiments, extend to quite that level, you can see how easy it would've been to disappoint me. When Michael Collins first appeared in the local theatre, I stayed literally all day. Even if you have no such background, caring nothing for history or human rights, this is a great movie. Script, direction, casting/acting all superb. Way too violent for youngsters. Before you get on your high horse about that, be aware the violence is not gratuitous. Did the American colonies just send Britain a polite letter requesting independence and get a gracious okay in reply? If you can stomach Mel Gibson's Patriot movie - which I also loved - then the movie Michael Collins should get the same consideration. Liam Neeson is terribly easy on the eyes, too.

Historical drama relating to Ireland. It shows the turmoil of the period and casts light on the reason an American was the first President of Ireland - he had the Irish man, Michael Collins killed.

First off I'd like to say that I had a hard time finding Michael Collins anywhere. Needless to say that when I found it here I was very excited and bought it right away.
As for the technical stuff the DVD works great, has plenty of extras and is has a good clear picture.
So far the only negitive I have with it is that to watch the whole film I have to turn the disc over. But that is the only thing worng with it in my opinion.
Hmm...what else? The shipping was quick and the price was good and I guess I'll end on that note. Thanks again guys.

This wasn't the easiest DVD to find in stores and I got it new and at a decent price. There isn't anything to complain about with this purchase. It arrived after a reasonable time and the DVD was authentic. It was as solid of a purchase that I have ever made on Ebay.
