A touching book. It's short. Portrays characters well

The 2 main characters where great. Especially how the go on their adventure to find their "dream farm". Back in the old times (I believe the book took place in California), when blacks where treated unfairly, and "handicapped" people were looked down upon, one man (Lenny) takes care of this "handicapped" (George) bonding an unforgettable friendship. The ending is a little sad, but still a great book to read. The only reaon i gave it four stars, was because it just insnt my kind of interest, but because i thought it was much better than i anticipated, and actually has some very good parts, i would defnately give it 4 stars.
P.S. i belive it takes place during the dust bowl in California, but havent read the book in a long time.
