One word can explain an awesome game, wonderful. The creators of this game have done their homework by listening to us gamers and doing what is right. On Metroid Prime Hunters, you can obvisously play as Samus Aran, but this time you can play as 6 or 7 other bounty hunters with each there own special weapon, alt form, and appearance. But all i have to say is this is a must have game for the DS.

I bought this for my son. He loves this game and out of all his games, this is the one he plays the most. You are have the option to play live with others through the internet. It allows you to actually talk to other players while playing.
From my son and his friend's reaction to this game I would recommend it to others.

  LOVE the wifi connection!

I love how you can play against people from different parts of the country. Its so cool!. The adventure mode is great too. I love how there are different planets. The game is a little tough though. I cant get past 52% in adventure mode. I cant seem to find the next place to go. Even though I cant play adventure mode, multiplayer mode and the wifi connection make the game soooo much better. I also love how you can view other peoples records and see how well they are doing in the wifi mode.

This game was a gift to my son for his birthday. It is a fantastic game for a 13+ year old! It has also freed up our phone line due to the walkie talkie like feature of the game. He plays with a friend miles away!
SWEET!!! That is amazing coming from a square like me. ;)

One of the better games for the DS.

Metroid Prime: Hunters is definitely one of the better games from Nintendo for the DS. Even though it is more FPS-like than the previous Metroid games, it still feels very much like a Metroid Prime game and tells a very interesting story without actually telling it. The addition of these other hunters really added an extra angle to the game that allows it to stand proud and tell next to the other entries in this franchise.

The graphics are slightly grainy but about as good as one would expect from a DS. The 3-D world that Samus is exploring is very rich in those Metroid Prime textures we have come to enjoy. The sound of the game is really fantastic, no voicework of course. It takes some time to get used to using the stylus to aim but it is very precise. The only problem is that, if you're not careful, you'll have her turning into a morphball right when you need to be shooting or jumping from a platform. That can get very frustrating but you just need to pay attention of where you touch the stylus to the screen.

The game is very enjoyable to play, though the little timed chases to escape a place seem unnecessary but I guess they needed to add a little more excitement.

Add on top of all of this Wi-Fi multiplayer and you definitely have something that will be remembered.

  Metroid Prime Hunters DS...
Review created: 08/26/07

Metroid has always captivated my imagination. I love fighting pirates over the fate of some foreign galaxy never before heard of. I love the imaginary characters and weapons. This is the best Metroid game I've ever played, though to be sure the best will soon be Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, on Wii...
Multiplayer is the best. I always pick this game up, after a while, and I'm always coming back to it. The story is good, but that will end quite soon. The multiplayer is what makes this so special. The controls are strange, but w/ some practice CAN be mastered!

  Great addition to the DS!

Metroid Prime Hunters is a great game and really showcases what the DS is capable when it comes to FPS. Hopefully there is more to come!

Gameplay- This game is great, environments are very mysterious and intresting, an enemy is usually in every room, giving it an action packed environment, along with hunters constantly attacking. Weapons are very intuitive, using each weapon (color) to unlock new areas in old planets.

Graphics- These graphics are awsome! reminds me of the first metroid prime for the cube. I was really amazed at how well and smooth they flowed together.

Sound- Sound is good, no complaints here, you can hear the ice cracking below your feet, or the metal clank of the space dock. Weapons sound cool too!

Controls- Using the stylus control scheme (highly recommended) the controls are almost too good, its amazing the control and reflex you get from the stylus, Also, all your weapons and other controls are displayed on the bottom screen for easy use.

OVERALL- This game is great if your into FPS and own a DS. If your skeptical, try it and you will love it. The only 'negative' thing i have to say about this game is that it is sometimes confusing to know where to go and what to do. This is easily countered by using a free online guide, but its not confusing to the point you will never figure it out, if anything it adds length, and difficulty to the game. Better a Hard long game then Easy and short right? So overall this game is incredible and the control scheme for the DS is velvety smooth.

Not the best, but still a ton of fun

Let me start out by saying that I am a huge Metroid fan. Ever since a cousin of mine showed me Metroid Fusion for the Game Boy Advance, I have been extremely obsessed with the series. In some form or another, I own every single Metroid game except for Super Metroid, which I will buy with the Wii Virtual Console, and the upcoming Metroid Prime 3, which I will also definitely buy. So, due to my obsession, I simply could not wait for this game to be released. I reserved a copy at my local Gamestop. Practically every day I would go on the internet and watch Metroid Prime Hunters videos. I even counted down the days until March 20, 2006, the release of this game. When I finally got my hands on a copy and began to play, I must say, even after all of this, I was disappointed.

Sure, the game was fun to play, but it did not even compare to some other entries in the series. Also, I hate to say it, but I liked the control scheme of the demo better than that of the actual game. So the game was fun but not as good as I thought it would be. Or, at least, the single-player adventure mode. However, I purchased a WiFi adapter for my DS and I was blown away by the multiplayer mode. It was ten times better than the single-player mode. Don't get me wrong, the single-player mode was still quite fun, just not quite as good.

Overall, I must say that the single-player mode deserves a 3.5 to a 4 of 5, while the multiplayer deserves a definite 5. If I could, I would give the game a 4.5 overall. For obsessive Metroid collectors such as myself, you absolutely must buy this game. For someone looking for a fun multiplayer FPS experience for the DS, this is your best option. However, for those Metroid fans who simply like the series but are not obsessed to the point of buying every game on the day of its release, you may want to consider it first. Although a fun game, Metroid Prime Hunters simply doesn't retain the classic feel of the series, and that's a real shame.

Either head to head with your friends or following the adventure, Hunters is one of the best games out for the DS. Excellent graphics, controls, weapons, monsters, puzzles, game play, etc. Up to four can play on one game cartridge head to head in several arenas. All the best fun of first person shoot-ems with no gore. Great for kids 9 and up.

  Hours of fun

The major selling point for Metroid Prime Hunters is the multiplayer. The multiplayer gives this title endless replay value due to the WIFI connection battles that you can have with people from around the world. The single player is also very strong. The boss battles are very faced paced to the point of insanity which provides just enough challenge. In both modes the graphics are fantastic. The title definately shows the power of the Nintendo DS. One possible downside is that it isn't really designed for casual gamers. The controls can be taxing if you are not a hardcore gamer. All in all this is a great game.

Metroid Prime Hunters Hurts my Hands

If you are a fan of Metroid Prime, Hunters is very similar. I bought this game with Metroid Fusion, and ended up playing fusion more. I am just so use to the Game Cube version, it is a hard transfer to the DS. My hands ache up, and I would have liked to see the DS version of metroid more like the Super Mario DS Version (Old school 2D with slicker graphics and innovative game play). The Online element is nice, and the game is fun to play. Just beware, it is different from Game Cube Prime.

Good graphics. WiFi is cool but you can't always get a game. Only thing I would change is the ability to customize your controls. You can't, you have to pick a preset option. But definitely a good purchase choice.

Awesome
Graphics: Amazing graphics. Awesome in-game movies. You have to see them to believe them. Dont miss out.

GamePlay: The controls take a while to get comfortable with. This is probably only bad part of the game.

Wi-Fi FPS Metroid? Sign me up!

Being an avid Metroid player I was giddy as could be when Hunters was announced. To hone my skill with the unique and easy to learn stylus control the ability to unlock and defeat other Bounty Hunters for the battle over Octoliths amazed me. The single player cutscenes and movies had beautiful graphics but the normal gameplay was nothing like Metroid Prime. The Alimbic Story along with the absence of Metroids was a daring leap for Nintendo but they still managed to make the story interesting. The ability to play against other players and Hunters over Nintendo WFC was something new entirely. The introduction of 6 (instead of the usual three)worked well with the individual Hunters using their own weapons. The varied areas and unlockable weapon and ending add a Metroidy feel to the game. If you meet MGG Omega over Wi-Fi or you have e-mail me. I want to know how good this Legendary Hunter is doing. ;)

  Amazing game!!!

This is, by far, the best First-person shooter/adventure game you will ever get for your DS or DSi. Period! The single player is challanging and took me many hours to beat. It's a fun experience, although the bosses are a little too easy. But the best part is the multiplayer. You can verse up to 4 people around the world, I think up to 6 people in wireless mode, and do download play, which is good if you have 2 DSs but only one game. The multiplayer is as close as to Halo as your gonna get for DS, and it blows the mind. You get different elemental weapons, like laser sniper rifles, and cool upgrades like invisibilty. You can play as 7 different hunters, which is great. The game is slick and runs smoothly on the DS, and the sounds, animations, and graphics are stunning. I love how advanced the game is, with headshot counters and different modes. I've playd everything on the DS, from Mario Kart to Call of Duty, and this is the best game your gonna get. If your looking for an advanced first person/action game, this is all you need!
