  A True Must-Buy Gamecube Title
Review created: 12/12/05

As much as I love this game, I must first give you a warning: If you didn't like the first Metroid Prime, you'll hate this game.
Seriously.
Having said that, it's really a shame to hate Prime I and II, since they're some of the best Gamecube games of all time, and some of the best games ever.
Metroid Prime II follows the continuing adventures of Samus Aran as she lands yet again on a alien planet. One thing leads to another, and she is forced into a war between a race of moth-like guardians of the planet, and inter-dimentional darklings, called the Ing.
The single player is still very meaty, with at least 20 hours in it, without all the pickup and upgrade hunting. But, with Prime II, something very different has been introduced into the Metroid universe.
Multiplayer.
For those of you who have played Prime, you know how awkward this sounds. And for those of you who don't, read on.
Combat in Prime I and II is done by auto-targeting you enemy, and blasting away. Although you can get away by quickly jumping out of the way, or turning into a morphball, the whole thing is very awkward. Also, with only a handful of average maps, only two modes, and no AI support, the whole thing comes off as an interesting offshoot of Prime, but nothing great.
Overall, this is an incredible game. Do yourself a favor, and buy it. And if you don't have a Gamecube, buy one and play Prime I and II on it.
I certainly didn't regret it.

A greater game than the first
Review created: 10/10/05

If you played and liked the first Metroid Prime, then you will love Echoes. The second Metroid Prime has the same features plus new weapons and an echoing story. In other words, it is a first person shooter with a Metroid attitude. After Samus recieves word that a federation ship might have crash landed on the planet Aether, she flys to the planet only to be stranded there too by the horrible atmosphere storm and with a familiar and terriying foe. As she soon finds out, she is the only hope left for this world against this new evil threat, the Ing. This game combines the old Metroid Prime elements plus a new light and dark feature. While you are safe in the light, the dark is like death beyond death. This game will at least excite you if not scare you. Music is even better than the other Prime. The final battle music will really get you into the fight. Just like Metroid Prime, this game will scare and entertain you (unless you are used to being startled).

An improvement on the original Metroid Prime!

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a game released by Nintendo for the gamecube. You once again follow the adventures of Samus Aran as she goes to another planet to save a federation ship. Once their you are pressed into the ultimate battle between light and dark. Which side will Samus fall under. ;)

The gameplay is awesome on this. The basics of Metroid Prime 1 continue into Echos. However, their are more weapons and tactics that you must master to play the game.

Awesome Graphics and gameplay.

  Absolutely Spectacular!
Review created: 02/11/09(updated 09/16/09)

This game is a sequel that takes the established framework of it's predecessor and builds on it with diverse new locales, innovative abilities, and inventive gameplay. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes stands shoulder to shoulder with the first Prime, delivering absolutely everything you'd want from a new 3D Metroid adventure.

Like its predecessor, most of the plot development comes through the discovery of textual logs and ancient lore. Recovering your equipment, discovering new areas, and battling vicious enemies are as devilishly challenging and as rewarding in Echoes as they have been in every other Metroid game. The environments and even Samus herself are more-detailed this time around, boasting greater geometric detail, more-dynamic designs, and impressive new lighting and other special effects.

If you finished Metroid Prime and were left wanting more, Echoes gives it to you in spades. The game is quite long and involved--you'll spend a bare minimum of 20 hours just getting to the end, and finding all the hidden items and scanning everything will take much longer (and will open up bonuses such as a harder difficulty mode and production-artwork galleries). As an adventure game with heavy action elements and an emphasis on complex puzzle-solving, Metroid Prime 2 is about as good as it gets, on the GameCube or on any platform.

An excellent sequel to the classic Metroid Prime.

do. Click on the link below, register, pick an account type (referral is
the easiest) and complete just 1 offer (Very important that you complete
the 1 offer otherwise your account will sit in limbo until you do). This
is not like other sites where you need to complete one offer on 2 or 3
different pages!!! And a lot of these offers are FREE trials with
nothing else to buy...No commitments!!!

There are plenty of cool offers to choose from such as Blockbuster
online, Stamp.com, Netflix, Gamefly which are services you would
regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use
them to get a free PS3 System or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day
free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the
same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you.
After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer 8-13 people
(depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link
(just post the same thing as I have on eBay, and you'll get your
referrals before the auction even ends.)

Then they will ship your PS3 System or your selected item for free, I
chose the PS3 80gb System. No Joke, 100% REAL!!! The reason these
companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all
the referrals. All you have to do is post it ! They use us as
advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money which goes
toward yours and my free gift. These are legit companies such as
Blockbuster, Netflix, Gamefly etc... You can copy my listing if you
want. You must use your own authentic link though. You will get your own

Metroid has long been a favorite for nintendo fans. Metroid Prime 2 is no doubt not to disappoint. There are many things that are the same from part 1, but keep in mind that Metroid has had many firsts. You will enjoy this game if you love thinking, searching and as well, a good shoot out. Graphics are excellent for the gamecube. Keep in mind also, this game can be played on the Nintendo Wii.

  METRIOD FANATIC
Review created: 12/10/07
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Hey hey...well what can I say!!!
I'm a huge Metroid fan. Ever since I played Super Metroid on the SNES I was hooked and Metroid Echoes is a fantastic game to follow Super. Prime is a good game but I prefer Echoes. There are tons of levels, great action and one of my favorite parts of Metroid is the discovery and Echoes has it all plus the game is quite a bit more user friendly than the first. I guess maybe they improved on the original and worked out some bugs. Whatever it is...I love it and if your a Metroid Fanatic then you'll love it too.
All righty then...that's all for now...till next time...GAME LIKE IT MATTERS!!!

This game is lengthy, with an awesome new world to explore, or two. Metroid Prime 2 has the characteristics of a great game, with precise control, good graphics, unforgetable battles, catchy music, over 20 hours of game play, and four player action. I got a new one, cheap, off of an ebay site. It's defently worth a look.

  The sequel to Metroid Prime
Review created: 09/05/09
by:

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a first-person adventure game for the Gamecube. Set after Prime Hunters but before Prime 3, this focuses on Samus trying to save Aether from an evil menace known as the Ing. The game is darker this time around with dual dimensions, new weapons and power-ups and a whole load of boss battles. There's also multiplayer where up to four players can duke it out but its good for one or two runs. Other than that, Metroid Prime 2 Echoes is a great game and a true test of gaming skill.

A masterpiece. The best Metroid game to date.
Review created: 06/02/09
by:

The anticipated sequel to Metroid Prime is here... with a bang. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is a first person adventure game where you are the bounty hunter, Samus Aran, the heroine of Nintendo's Metroid series.

Storyline

We join Samus as she's starting her next mission after the events of Metroid Prime. Galactic Federation troops have activated a distress signal on a docile planet called Aether, and Samus's orders are to respond to the call and solve the problem. The Galactic Federation had chased a group of Space Pirates to Aether, when something happened. She arrives in the midst of a thunderstorm that damages her ship, and is barely able to make a safe landing. Leaving her ship while it repairs itself, she discovers what's left of the troopers, and uses their computer logs to determine what happened.

She discovers that Aether, in fact, is far from peaceful. A meteor strike had caused a dimensional disturbance on Aether, splitting the world into two dimensions; one light, and one dark. The habitants of Aether, a race called the Luminoth, are at war with the dwellers of Dark Aether, shapeshifting monsters called the Ing. The space pirates were on Aether because they were searching for Phazon, the deadly substance from Metroid Prime. What's more, a Samus lookalike has appeared, clad in a black and blue powersuit. This "Dark Samus" is also seeking Phazon, though whether she is on the side of either the Ing or the Space Pirates remains to be seen. Unable to leave the planet, Samus has no choice but to get to the bottom of this.

Upon meeting U-Mos, a surviving Luminoth, your goal is laid out for you. Aether and Dark Aether share the same energy and life force, and the Luminoth and Ing are at war for this energy. By this time, most of the planet's energy is in Dark Aether, and the planet is dying. It's time to do something about that.

Objective

Aether and Dark Aether both have energy controllers, found inside temples. Samus' job is to get inside each of the temples of Dark Aether, and transfer the energy she finds there to it's counterpart on Aether. Easier said than done. To get inside of these temples in the first place, you'll need to find a set of "keys" to open the door to the temple, and getting these keys means exploration, solving puzzles, acquiring powerups for your suit, and defeating everything that opposes you. Upon collecting the keys and entering the temple, you'll be forced to fight a powerful temple guardian before access to the energy controller is granted. Enter every temple, defeat every Guardian, and bring back energy to Aether, and it will be saved, and Dark Aether will be destroyed.

Gameplay

The bulk of the game plays exactly the same as Metroid Prime. Same controls and physics. I highly recommend you play and finish the first Metroid Prime before playing this one, because without doing so, you will be confused and the game will be much more challenging than it already is. Even for Metroid Prime veterans, this is a very large, deep, and challenging game.

You'll spend much of the game in combat. Some of the creatures you find aren't aggressive and won't attack you unless provoked, some will attack you on sight. If you run into Space Pirates, they will attack you as soon as they see you. Trust me; they want you dead. Like every other Metroid game, Samus' combat abilities are directly related to her powersuit, which boasts a Power Beam that acts as a gun.
