Metro Girl by Janet Evanovich (2005, Paperback, Reprint)

I was not familiar with Janet Evanovich until a few months ago. I got introduced to her writings thru a lending library we have where I work. I started out with the Stephanie Plum 1-10 series and found I thoroughly enjoyed the first one, could not wait to get to the second one, read all the way thru the 10th. I then couldn't wait until I found 11, and ended up buying #12 in hardback. It if really odd that I took to this author as I did. My job is very stressful and I found that Janet's book are "Laugh Out Loud Funny". I have had many people approach me about what I am reading, thus I have introduced others to her writing. I have since then read her 6 books in the "Full Series", Smitten, Metro Girl, Overboard, and am now reading Love Overboard.

What Can I say, I am HOOKED. Motor Mouth came out on Oct. 3 and I cannot wait to start it. It follows Metro Girl. I loved the pace, the mystery, and suspense of Metro Girl as I did the characters. Janet's true to life characters "fit" with myself and many people I know. It is truly a joy to find someone who says what she thinks, acts on her principles, laughs at herself and never takes life so seriously. My world is much too serious and Janet's sense of humor has made my life a lot more in balance. I had forgotten how good it feels to laugh right out loud for any reason. Because of the visions her writings paint and the expressions her characters use, you simply cannot help yourself, no matter how conservative you may be. I have not found any other author I have enjoyed more, ever. I am 58, have always been an avid reader, so that says a lot.

My other famous authors are John Grisham, Nora Roberts (more as her alias JD Robb)and JK Rowling's Harry Potter series. What is truly disappointing is when a great series that one has enjoyed so much is finished. But with creative minds like these new characters and experiences are just around the corner.

I will be watching for ALL Janet's books and plan to own her whole collection, if I don' already. I am glad she has brought back some of her first books. She has grown tremendously but it is apparent her genious surfaced at a very early age.

I highly recommend Janet's books-old and new alike. If there is a Evanovich fan club, PLEASE sign me up! Keep up the fantastic works.

Its a little different than the Stephanie Plum series but an exciting read nonetheless! Janet Evanovich's humour and action packed story telling continues in this series with Alexandra!

! Florida at it’s best !

This was a fast paced action packed fun adventure. Alex in search of her brother Bill lead her on an adventure of a lifetime. Meeting most interesting people on the way! Alex is fun, funny, bubbly and super cute! I loved this book!!! I started it on a Friday and had it finished by the following Wednesday. I just couldn’t get enough of it. I can’t wait to get started on Motor Mouth the sequel. I didn’t even know what Metro Girl was about I just picked it up and started in on it and feel in love with the characters. I felt like I was there with them. I’ve only read one other book by Janet Evanovich and it was Naughty Neighbor. It seems like everything she writes is awesome. I’m a James Patterson fan and this book just grabbed hold of me and I didn’t want to let go.

All Evanovich fans will love this book! Typical Evanovich, humor, romance and detecting by luck. Can't wait to read more in this series!

I bought the book because I love to read Janet Evanovich and this book proved to be a right choice. It is light reading but it makes me laugh all the way to the end and Metro Girl didn't disappoint, I loved it.

I was a little worried about reading Metro Girl right after reading the 12 Plum books; however I was not disappointed. I like the whole NASCAR thing going for it. It took a bit to get out the of Plum way of thinking and into the Barnaby way of thinking but I really liked it. I have just bought Motor Mouth and so far I like that book even more than Metro Girl!

Ilove the book.I bought it because I had been wanting to read it, and it cost a lot less than it does at the store.

I always thought I was a person of intelligence but if I had the chance to have cocktails with ANYONE in the world alive today - I would choose Janet Evanovich. We've read everything she's written and she never fails to make us feel light and happy. What an engaging imagination she has - I truly hope she continues with Stephanie Plum and now with Barney. Laugh out loud - read them all. Wonder if she would put me on the payroll?

I love all Novels from Janet Evanovich!! She is an amazing writer. I laugh out loud when I read her books. And Metro Girls is also a good one. You won't be disapointed!!
