Metalocalypse: The Dethalbum by Dethklok (CD, Sep-2007, Williams Street)

I was lucky enough to find a copy of the delux album at target.com, and they still have them!
The Album rocks. Who would have thought a cartoon show could put out a metal album this good. The tracks are solid, and they are full blown songs. The lyrics are funny but the instuments are solid. This is a must for anyone who is feeling like metal has been slipping lately.

After a long search, and several unsuccessful bidding wars right here, I became the owner of an album that is nearly impossible to find, or even order anywhere else.
the Dethklok DEATHALBUM is one of the monster 'death metal'albums of all time, and when one realizes that the same people who have created the show, and several otehr "ADULT SWIM" favorites as well are the players in the band, it becomes even more powerful.
The music is tight, the editing is right on and the sound can rip your eardrums from their mooring, punching them at high speed right through your brain, to meet and explode in the midline, causing paroxysms of agonistic extasy!
God, I love this album!
Next - I want to have my hair done like Pickles' ... if I had any to start with - or at least to have his drum kit --

If you've bought this album you know what top expect, heavy music with slightly rediculous lyrics. Saying that the music is really well produced, better than some albums I own at home, and a lot of care and attention has been lavished on them rather than just some tie-in product that has been pushed out to make more money from the fans of the show. If you love Metalocalypse then buy this album, a must for any fan.

This is just Awesome, Pick up a copy of this!! The Show rocks too, the DVD is out if you miss it late night. The Creator Brendon Small is the man. He does all the guitars/bass on the album and he also created Home Movies which is also an awesome show!

i like it but on every song a voice comes on and says dethklok promo two thousand seven at least twice. it sucks but at least i get to listen to dethklok. those guys rock! even though they're just cartoons.

I really don't know anything about this group...but my grandson loves them and wanted me to buy this on ebay for him. So I did!

If you like awesome metal you will love this CD. Dethklok has great catchy riffing, cool and comical lyrics, and overall good sound. Simply put Dethklok rocks!!

I loved the fact that the product was new and in perfect shape.
I decided to buy this product because I heard some of there music on youtube. I was not into this type of music at first but afther listing to this band i started to enjoy this genre of music.
I guess i just bought this product to listen to something new.
It was well worth it.

I started watching Metalocalypse and out of curiosity I searched to see if they actually had an album because the songs in the cartoon on Adult Swim are BRUTAL! I was very surprised to see the success of this album and they're a CARTOON BAND UNBELIEVABLE!! So I bought it and pre-ordered the new album scheduled to be released in September (can't wait to hear this one)!!! These are some SYCK lyrics!! I'm a big Cannibal Corpse fan and Dethklok is just as sadistic!

It's just such a cool idea. Comedy and metal all in one. I decided to buy it after learning the Metalocalypse theme song on guitar. Some of the riffs in this music are really cool.

Metal in it's purest form. Hardcore music from the first season. I love all of the music. Anyone who loves heavy metal or Dethklok will not regret buying this album.

This is one of the best albums out lately! The music is very catchy and you will find yourself humming for hours, I did.

I love the show! Dethklok is an awesome band as well. Can't wait to get the cd! Metalocalypse is funny, entertaining, and with loveable characters. Billionare bands members with low IQ getting up to mischief is bond to be a funny situation for each episode. Based on a real band (Dethklok), the band itself is exelent in performing both for the cartoon show, performing live and for their albums. Not so different from the likes of other hilarious creations such as robot chicken, and drawn together. Exelent, gotta love it!!

i have not gotten this item yet i sent the payment out a few weeks ago if i don't get it soon i play to report the problem to ebay.

If you are an avid Dethklok fan, then this album is for you! Even though the band is fictional, the music is NOT! There's actually some talent here. If you haven't caught an episode, you don't know what your miss'n. The cartoon is just too damn funny - Dethklok IS SO METAL! Nuff said! Buy the album...It's over the top!

I bought this album as a fan of the show, Dethklok truly is an amazing band despite the fact that they got started by acartoon series.

Brutal! Great complimentary album to the fantastic Metalocalypse cartoon show. Full of the best liquid metal ever heard. Accomplished musicians stuff this album with innovative lyrics, drum lines and guitar licks. It will make you want more! A must for all metal fans.

This is the CD to get if you are into Metal music or the TV show, Metalocalypse. If you can get the Special Edition, I would go with it but right now they are very rare and pricey.

This is a true CD. There are 15 full length tracks. Not just the short clips that can be downloaded at the adult swim web site. If you love the show, you will love this CD.

Since no reviewers has really said anything about the sound of this album I will say a little. If you had to classify this music into a genre is would probably be "melodic death metal" but it really can't be pigeonholed like that. The vocals are very much death metal style, but the guitar tends to be very melodic and epic in its sound. Many of the songs sound like they are paying homage to/mocking various metal and rock bands over the past few decades. For example, the guitar harmonies on "Go Into The Water" sound exactly like something Queen would play, while the drumming and riffing make "The Lost Vikings" sound like an orphaned Amon Amarth track.

As others have mentioned, the band is a fictional one from the Adult Swim cartoon "Metalocalypse." Because of this, many of the lyrics are humorous in nature. However, the intrumentals are to be taken seriously. The solos and songwriting is top-notch, and "Thunderhorse" rivals Metallica's "Orion" for pure musical genius. This is an album that every metal fan should own.

This is one of my favorite metal albums to date, plus it has the DethTheme as a bonus song. I would recommend this to anyone who likes metal.

THE GREATEST ALBUM I HAVE EVER EVER HEARD!!! Need I say any more? Of course not, but for those of you who don't know about Dethklok I shall cure thee of thy ignorance. All kidding aside, I do belive this may be the greatest album I have EVER heard. This album is based on the show based on making fun of how extravagant and ridiculous metal band often are. For those of you who have seen the show and enjoyed it, this album will be an addiction. For those of you who have'nt had the EXTREME pleasure, the hilarious show "Metalocolypse" is an animated series about the fictional band Dethklok who is the "most famous and rich band in the world." They are near complete morons who have an astounding affinity for musical aptitude. This album "The Dethalbum" is a compilation of songs from the show, off of their fictional albums. The album itself is a joke on metal bands but still has the uncanny strength to overpower you and drag you into the back of it's van of musical awesomeness. It has well assembled and perfectly accompanied musical genius behind it. The music itself sounds, for the most part, like '80s heavy metal but better. The lyrics are where one realizes this album is a joke. Being mostly ridiculous, but always in character of "the greatest metal band in the world", they make much more sense if you've seen the show. They are however brilliant in the manner which the songs are sang, if you can't understand the actual worlds their saying then they sound like regular metal music and it still sounds amazing. Seeing as how the band is actually fictional, for something like this to exist they require some real life help which is rendered by Brendon Small, who does all of the guitars, keyboards, and vocals, and Gene Holgan who delivers insane drumming which would rival that of the one and only Joey Jordinson. I just cannot say enough about the excellence of this album and my words could never do it justice. It is an encounter with the gods of music one can only experience for themselves. Unfortunately, as a worldly and greedy man, I have but one complaint for Dethklok, MORE SONGS!! I wish it had a few more song but I can only expect there will be another album after another season or two of the show. Yet still, I must recomend the purchase, listening of, and worshiping of this nugget of musical mastery. (Especially the Deluxe/Limited edition including extra tracks and the music video for "Bloodrocuted" as well as Episode 1, Season 2 of Metalocolpyse)
