Metal Slug Anthology (PlayStation Portable, 2007)

Metal Slug Anthology is all the side scrolling old school arcade fun you could ask for. With every game ever released for Metal Slug including MS6, which I hadn't played before hand and was very pleased with, perfectly reformatted for the PSP. Tons of unlockable wallpapers and pictures to keep you playing (as if you needed another reason.) If there's any reason not to like this game it would be the black bars on the sides (due to the non-widescreen nature of the game.) All in all I'd say any fan of the series NEEDS this game, perfect pick up and play game for the PSP.

I love this game! the graphics are decent... nothing new since it's all the originals in all the versions in metal slug. Game you can play for hours!

This game is a classic, I don’t know if you ever had the chance of playing this game in its original format of arcade, but I did. I remember playing for hours and spending lots of quarters in the process.

It was a great move by the developers of the game to finally bring this series to the PSP, because it takes advantage of the mobility of the PSP and combined with the hours of fun that Metal Slug Anthology brings nothing more than a wining “Bifecta”.

This game is a blast from the past. Many missions to complete and the levels are very detailed. Amazing gameplay in a side scrolling shooter. Great replay value. Tokens can be collected and used to unlock extras.

Metal Slug has always intrigued my interests ever since I played it on the Neo Geo. Years later, it is still one of my favorite series I've ever played. Here's the rundown:

Each game presented in the anthology is definitely solid and holds dear to the original style of gameplay. The graphics live up to its name despite it being a 2-D side scrolling game. The game mechanics also have stayed the same, which means the same problem of aiming (to me) is also presented in each game individually. The extras are likeable, but complicated to achieve. I only give this a good rating due to limited replayability. You would be simply using different characters in different settings, except when it comes to Metal slug 4 and up, where you choose diferent characters but with a preset weapon or speciality.

Overall, it is enjoyable and a must have for those wishing to immerse themselves into the series.

Simply a fun, very bloody side-scroller. I would suggest this for anyone after very pure, oldschool gaming with a twist of unreasonable violence and giant bosses.

the classic shooter from the arcade. but at home. on this issue on psp you get all of the orignals and a never played game on it for a total of seven games in one a great hit.

I was very supprised to see this game still out. I have loved this game ever scence I played on arcade machines.Game play in very nice for a portable system i seen someone sayed that the black lines on the sides of the screen there is an option to make widescreen just to let yall know!! All in all this game is amazing a little old school games that we played the crap out of and some new titles if u had ever played this game it is very worth the money will keep you intertained for hours on end!!!

I saw this game at HMV during a business trip, but the retail price was $49.00! I went to several video game resellers in Toronto but none of them has this game in stock. So I searched on Ebay and bought it for half the price (including shipping). What a great deal, now I can play this action packed game on my PSP!

It´s a classic arcade game, very popular. I had to have it, remmember me my youth and all the time i spent in front of the machine inserting coin after coin trying to finish the game. I think it was an excellent idea releasing this title.

Awesome game to have for the Sony PSP. Seven games in one disc all full of fun. This game has been popular since it's debut in the arcades. I highly recommend this game to any one who owns a Sony PSP.
