Though he first made a name for himself as "Mr. Dalvin" of R&B supergroup Jodeci, singer/songwriter Dalvin DeGrate now throws his hat into the solo arena with his debut MET.A.MOR.PHIC. The transformation is obvious, as he vocally harnesses maturity, confidence and sex appeal on songs like "Long Day," "Not My Girl," and "She Wanted." Dalvin is joined by producer Stevie J. on "Why Can't We," and "Scandalous," and his brother Devante on "Dangerous." MET.A.MOR.PHIC is a solid, complete, contemporary R&B album. Other highlights are "I Got That," an emotional cover of Def Leppard's "Love Bites," and "'Til U Get Enough," which uses a sample from Al Green's "Free at Last."
