The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (DVD, 2000, International Version; Closed Caption)

This is one of my favorite movies. It has a great story with a lot of action. The battle scenes were as good if not better then Braveheart. Not to mention how great the acting was. I do not think anyone could have played the role of God better than Dustin except for God himself. Even though many people have mixed reactions about Milla’s acting, in general, I think she played a wonderful Joan of Arch. And John Malkovich was excellent as the king of France.

Overall I found this move very entertaining as well as moving.

If you like medieval movies this one is a must.

Milla Jovovich portrays Joan of Ark in stunning cinematic fashion. The script and driecting is first rate. Luc Besson has done it again. If you like movies like The Fifth Element and Cesar, just imagine them rolled into a well acted thrill ride. Set in 15th century France, you can see all aspects of the turmoil that plighted this time in history. A must see for Jovovich fans (like myself) and epic war struggle nuts as well. Enjoy!

This is one of the most interesting of all Joan of Arc movies. In my opinion it is the most life like and realistic at the time of the event. It's a little gory in some scenes yet, I sure this really took place in this time period. You feel the heart and soul of what Joan of Arc went through and it's one of the most moving video's of all time. I recommend this video for adults only since some of the scenes are bit much for a child to see in violence. 5 star rating. Excellent.

The DVD was mailed and recieved very qickly. The movie was in excellent condition. I will buy from this person again.

This is one of the best movies on Joan of Arc. Very dramatic and interesting. The same girl from the Fifth Element plays the Joan of Arc and she is awesome in this movie too. May not be for kids tho-

I thought this is a good movie. I have not seen this movie before and it was pretty good when I watched it with my husband. I bought the movie for him to replace it on vhs that we had.

Excellent movie, loads of dramatic effect and plenty of battle scenes for those who love the epic of battles. The actress in this movie did a great job in protraying the historical Joan of Arc.

The DVD was in great condition, it was apresent for my mother and she loved it. Also fast shipping and to the correct address.

Milla is one heck of an actress. I saw this movie on HBO or one of them channels and very much enjoyed her portrayel of Joan of Arc. She played the role with such a intesity, atleast till her character was burned at the stake for hearacy after being tricked into signing a confesion.

Great retelling of the Joan of Arc story. Great cast and film technique. Start with Joan as a little girl when she first hear the voices and sees the angle. Follow her through to the very end. Feel her frustration as she is compelled to lead in a mens only army. See what happens when she is captured on what leads to her being killed by burning at the stake. Remember, the Joan story tells us that after the fire was out, her heart remained, untouched by the fire.

Enjoy a truly great action flick with a timeless story of hope, faith, and the necessity of war.

This truly great movie is in the same class as the fabulous one entitled "Braveheart". The Director Luc Besson and the composer of the music Eric Serra have also made "The Professional" which was one of the greatest gangster movies of all time, and "The Fifth Element" a superb science fiction flick. The stories of these 3 movies are in no ways similar, but they all have one thing in common; Superb script, acting, casting and music, as well as photographic genius that takes you right into the mood of the plot. Just watching John Malkovich play the King of France, is totally awesome. The Director makes you feel the suspense and creates great interest throughout, from the very beginning to the very end. Milla Jovovich couldnt be better. I believe the critics were unkind to this film at the box office. But then so were they unkind to Mozarts Piano Concertoes in a minor key when they first came out. So let your own intuition be the judge. This is a great flick. Totally awesome in every respect. If you liked the fabulous film "Braveheart" you will also love this one.

I love the movie, always have, but the only thing is that I had a couple audio issues when I was watching it. The voices would sound muffled or not even there briefly.

A grate action / drama movie.Seeing the wide screen version is a must.Good story and message.Grate cast with a surprise appearance and slight twist near the end.
