Message in a Bottle (DVD, 1999, Widescreen)

I HAD to love this movie. Inside the hutch inside the main characters house are a group of bottles I myself excavated and sold to the producer just a few miles from where they were filming. She was cruising the flea market and buying up "junk" to dress the set with. The sad part is that none of mine got to be the bottles with the messages, as they were newer and I deal in older stuff. The movie is crushing and depressing overall, which makes it all too real. Realism having pretty much gone out the window in these days of overblown, comic book, slo-mo special effects of people doing absolutely ridiculous things. Happy endings are unfinished stories as far as I'm concerned and this flick doesn't disappoint in that department. Rob ;-D

It was a good movie. I just wouldn't watch it over and over. I bought it because my cousin said it was a excellent movie.

Love it watch it was great and the seller was great! Coming from Canada took a little longer but the seller kept in touch and the time was expected A++++

I bought this movie because I read Nicholas Sparks books. I hadn't read Message in a Bottle so, I thought I would like to see the movie. Loved this movie. Although the ending is a bit of a disappointment.

If Paul Newman, Kevin Costner and Robin Wright Penn are starring in a movie together, I don't care what it's about, there's a strong chance it's going to be worth watching. This movie happens to be a mature love story (the guys are cringing already, but don't worry girls- he'll be stealing kleenex from you later) that happens to take place along the coast in a small, crusty seafaring village where everyone knows the other's business, where they've all known joy and heartbreak together. It's about a man who thought he could never love another woman again, and a woman who always wanted that kind of love from a man. Can they find their way to each other? Watch and find out. It won't end the way you think...

This is one of the must have movies for your collection! It has romance, light humor, great scenery, some drama...It has a twist that you don't expect. You won't be disappointed but you might need a tissue! Enjoy!

Love this movie...had it only on VHS but have been wanting it on dvd. Found it on ebay at a great price..and I got to use my ebay bucks!

Bought this for a friend of mine. She has every Kevin Costner movie and this is her favorite. She watched it so many times she wore it out so I bought her another one. I purchased yours because I am cheap. It was the cheapest and shipping wasn't bad either. Keep prices and shipping down and ebay sellers would sell a lot more. Love the "free shipping" on some items now. The shipping from other ebay sellers was getting ridiculous. Thanks so much, prompt shipment and she loves it!!!

products are in great condition as described, one thing i disagree is the communication. no feedback. i was gonna leave a negative feedback but the products and prices are competitive. bought five items from the seller already but have not received any response or even feedback. think all he cares about is selling. i'll try not to buy from this seller anymore if i can.

I bought the movie because I saw part of it on cable TV.

It's a wonderful story of love and choices. It has the flavor of the movie called 'The Notebook'. We all makes choices in our daily lives. The ones that stand out are usually the ones that don't turn out well, well the ones that we wished would have turned out differently. It's always best to make sure you are at the right place at the right time. If you put things out of sequence, then the unfortunate can happen.

The movie was written and acted out very well. It makes you want to believe in the concept of love is available under any circumstances. However one needs to yield to it. But there are times when someone needs to show you the way.

This is a beautiful love story with a lot of unexpected plot twists. I loved the boat scenes. I wasn't happy with the ending and I admit to crying at the end.

every one loves kevin, he is a excellent actor,and there is something about him,that makes you fall in love. this movie,took hold of my heart,soul,and mind. I have written many poems about love,and how it is suppose to be,but this movie explains it all. If you want to see what real love is,watch this

I'm a sucker for love stories and this one is number one on my list!! I don't believe this movie got enough credit. It's a movie where you think you know where it's headed, then it takes you somewhere you never expected! The love in this movie is a love everyone hopes for!! If you haven't already seen it, I highly recommend you do!!

This is such a great movie! And purchasing off ebay is so much easier than looking for it in stores and most of hte time cheaper even with shipping.

Has been one of my favorite VHS's so I decided to replace with a DVD. Great movie! How could it not be? Everything is here.............the ocean, Kevin Costner, Robin Wright Penn, & Paul Newman! Then throw in a beautiful love story - another great one from Nicholas Sparks and you have a lovely way to spend a couple of hours! A fine investment!

Great romance story. With (my favorite) Kevin Costner and Robin Wright Penn and not to leave out Paul Newman. Great group of actors. The title of the movie is exactly what the story is all about. How romantic, Robin Wright Penn actually finds a bottle with a message in it on the beach in North Carolina. Love found is the result of that message, great story, excellent acting, a "gotta have" movie.

Theresa (Robin Wright) , a reporter from Chicago, ventures to New England and her life changes forever. While walking along the shoreline, she happens upon a bottle floating in the glistening waters. She opens up the bottle, and discovers inside a love letter, whose author was obviously smitten with whoever the letter was meant for. Theresa is overwhelmed by the letter, as are her coworkers she shows it to. The letter ends up printed in the newspaper, the public goes nuts for it, and her editor sends Theresa out to find the man who wrote the letter. Needless to say, she does find the man, Garret Blake(Kevin Costner), who in the midst of rebuilding his life. The rest of the movie is best left for the audience to uncover on their own, although if you think about it a little, I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Message in a Bottle is a romantic movie, and a predictable one at that. But, aren't all romantic comedies and such predictable? That's why people like them, they're uplifted by the love contained in those movies.This is a must watch love movie.Hope this helps you decide.Thanks for reading! :)

Message in a Bottle is one of my favorite Nicholas Sparks books. I loved the movie. I have it on VHS and watch it often. I wanted it on DVD and was very pleased to find it. It was shipped the same day I ordered it and is in excellant condition. I am very pleased with my purchase.

What a great movie. Bought it for a birthday present. A great movie telling a[fictional] story that [in the story] took place under unexpected circumstances. I have thoroughly enjoyed the movie and so has the gift recipient. I definitely recommend it!

This is a great heart warming love story about finding new love after the loss of a spouse. Kevin Costner is at his best as a man that build and restores boats. I purchased this movie at the suggestion of my fiance and we watched it together and both of us ended up in tears at the ending of the film.
