Message in a Bottle by Nicholas Sparks (1999, Paperback, Reissue)

This fine novelist takes you places where phyically you have never been and mentally you don't want to go but you read on because you want to know. You want to know what happened and what happens to the people in the book. I love the way he makes you care about them. They are so real, as if you know them personally and when life happens to them, you feel for them and with them.
This is a romance story which changed my attitude about ever reading a romance. I'll read more of Sparks' books and have some tissues standing by in case...

A letter that reawakens her belief that star-crossed lovers will find each other across time and space...... I've read every book that Sparks has written and by far this is his saddest, best piece. No wonder they made it into a movie. You will feel like you know the characters and their story will touche you even more than you can imagine.

I really enjoyed this book, even though it ended in the saddest way possible. The only thing that made me uncomfortable is the almost stalkerish way the woman meets the man. I have recommended it to friends though, so that means I liked it!

Wow, this was a good story, the ending will really get you. Don't want to give it away, but I'd have liked to see a different ending!

I am collecting Nicholas Spark Books, mostly Hard Cover copies, but I had not read this one yet and got it at a bargain.

I have read other of his books. He is a good author. I did like this one as it told an interesting story of how 2 people meet. However, as not everything is out in the open, it leaves things to chance also. It really took quite a dramatic twist at the end which was a surprise & I have to admit that I was disappointed about that part. Overall, it was such a good book that it was hard to put down & I read it eagerly.

The book is used but has no unneccesary damage at all. I can't wait to read it! Now i have 11 Nicholas Sparks books in my collection!

I like, sort of, the way Nicolas Sparks writes. But I absolutely, positively abhor his endings. Why does he kill off his wonderful, best characters? I will not read another one of his books. I bought two of his novels, this one and A Bend something. And I'm giving them both away to someone who doesn't mind getting the serious let down! Why on earth does he do that? What a rip off! This is fiction! He doesn't have to break our hearts twice! Achchchhchk! Awful.

I was honestly disappointed with the book. It had moments where it was great, then it sort of boiled down to a mediocre love story. However, the ending was real good. Why couldn't the rest of the book have been that way?
