The Message would be a great Bible to get somone started in reading God's word. Also, it is a nice reference to have on hand in studying the Bible, to look at things from a different prespective.

One point to keep in mind, is that it does not replace the other translations of the Bible, it just supplements them.

Fast Shipping and great price. THIS IS NOT A BIBLE or a translation of the Bible!! Please keep that in mind when reading. IT IS A COMENTARY written in "modern language". Always reference verses to your translation and read this as Patterson's thoughts on what the Bible says.
It is very refreshing to read this without verses and reading it as a whole idea. It is a great book for those not used to the Bible or for someone who needs a fresh mind set. Just remember to reference it to the Bible because if this comentary is taken as a version of the Bible, it is very VERY inaccurate, subjective, and out of context.
Again, read it as a book about the Bible, not the Bible.

Very thoughful and well written in contemporary language than can easily penetrated my daily life application. Much better than NLT and Living bible that I enjoyed once. This is much detail and deliver the core idea and expose the flow of thought of the bible author. I think it is the output through deep meditation and it is indeed the one inspired from God through deep relationship with Him.

This is an excellent rendition of the Bible in modern everyday English. Earlier editions were in paragraph style without verse markings. This edition has solved that problem by including the verse markings in the margins without disrupting the paragraph style. I highly recommend this edition to anyone who would like a fresh interpretation of Scripture in language that's easy to understand. I was so impressed with my copy that I bought a second one for a friend who is also enjoying it.

It got my son-n-law reading the bible. It may not be the original
Greek or Hebrew but the "message" is there. We've bought two so far.

i bought a case of the bibles because my friend loves it. I like it beacuse it is easier to understand and fun to read rather than king james version. i will get another case and hand out to all my freinds.. i read it every night and don't want to stop.. there is bits of humor that is like a treasure of pleasure when i find and read... thanks... theresa

growin up in church, I hate the cliche NIV phrases and king james doesn't make sense to me. this translation actually brings interest back into the reading. it's great for the new generation.

I never received the book and I was charged for it. I tried couple of times to get in touch with the seller but I was unsuccessful.
This was my first time buying through ebay. I don’t have any experience buying thought the internet and I didn't do very well. I don't think I would do it again since I was unable to appeal for my purchased.

This is a very easy to understand version of the Holy Bible, this edition doesnt have the index of subject in the back but nevertheless is still a great way to get closer to God in your spiritual life....

Over the years I have tried to read the Bible. I have tried different editions, but the story never came alive for me, and reading seemed more of an exercise than a fascinationn. In the end my resolve always failed.

The Message Remix is written in understandable, current language and idioms. True, it does not have the poetic flow of the King James version, but when I read it, I feel the love and compassion of Jesus. It is an experience in feeling God with you that will bless those who read it.

I purchased this edition because it is the one being used in our discipleship classes. I will never regret it.

This Bible is one of the BEST things to use as a learning tool! If you read the King James version, or any other version for that matter, and don't really know or understand what you just read or have to read is dozens of times to 'see it'...this version is the ONE FOR YOU! It is like reading a novel, in everyday PLAIN ENGLISH. I think it is a great beginners Bible - I gave one to my 3 boys ages 10, 15, and 20...and they read it!!! It is good for Bible Studies too! AWESUM !!!!

I would recommend it for anyone that wants an easy-to-read version, it is particularly good for youths. From what I have seen, the interpretation is decent.

This is a paraphrase of the Bible. Good for general reading, but should be backed up with a relevant translation such as NIV, ESV, etc..

Excellent devotional Bible. When you really want a Bible version that speaks to you in today's natural English, I highly recommend the Message Bible. Granted that there are a number of verses that I wouldn't translate the same way in the Message, but the positives far outweigh the negatives on this one. (You'll never find the 'perfect' Bible.) As an avid user of Bible software, I've often come to prefer The Message's interpretation on quite a number of texts as well, particularly in contrast with other modern Bibles.

I love this Bible because it reads like a modern day novel, yet without losing
any of the meaning. In fact, the meaning becomes even more apparent in our
everyday language in words that we actually understand. I bought my first one about 3 years ago and since then have been buying copies for people who tell me
they would like to read the Bible, but just can't understand the King James Version. I started buying them on eBay because I save money. Friends and relatives I have given them to have read the Bible through for the first time and tell me they look forward to reading every day. These are so wonderful for teenagers, too! They come with different styles of covers to appeal to different types of people-there are neon covers and a camo cover and it even comes with leather covers. They are really inexpensive compared to other versions.

I wanted a bible that would be easy for my kids to get into. The Message is just that. It's easy to read and follow. I am so glad I got it!

I have always enjoyed reading God's Word. From the first time I began reading "The Message" I saw it contained a modernized version I really enjoyed. It has given me new insite of the words that I've known for so long and made me now look further into many of it's passage contents. I, unfortunately, can't give it an Excellent rating because "The Message" does "skip out" on several different verses mostly through out the New Testament. I have read some of these and really quite can't understand why Dr. Peterson would have left some of these verses out since they weigh in quite heavily into the passage. I do point out, it's more for the bible students (or as my Pastor says, "Bible scholars") because as it can help it may also mislead. I'm sure you have read some of the negative things so I'll give you an example of something I personally liked. On Psalm 91:15 the King James reads: "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him." (KJV). The Message reads: "Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times; I'll rescue you, then throw you a party." Can you believe that?!?!?! The Maker of heaven and earth will not only hear me, answer me and be with me in bad times but He will even throw a party in my honor! Show me off to His friends. Tell them all the good things about me.
I find these good, penetrating parts and see the ones that are missings and follow the words of the Apostle Paul, "...retain what is good and reject what is not."

My daughter wanted a copy of "The Message". I told her I would try to get her a copy. I found it on e bay, bid and won.

I was looking for a new bible and heard about this version. My first thought was to look on ebay. I found many and looked for the one with the best shipping price. Most of the offerings were priced simiraly , so shipping cost was a factor.
