I've spent the last 35 years reading through the Bible in one form or another. Reading charts. Study Bibles. One Year Bibles. Nothing compares to The Daily Message. It was complied by Eugene Peterson, a theologian and working pastor of forty years. It took him ten years to put together. Even in the information age, it will remain impactful for many, many years to come. It's the kind of language you hear on the radio, or on the television, or out in the community. It's fresh; vibrant; grabs your attention immediately. Even the novice reader is immediately impacted. It's broken into small passages so the reader doesn't become overwhelmed. Read the daily suggestions, or only parts of them. The important thing is to read. Just read. Read the most important conversation of your life. Read your conversation with God

This is a great starter Bible for kids. It speaks in a language that anyone can understand. I am an adult and I started on the message because I could not understand the KJV very well. Now, I can read the KJV and refer to the message at the same time. I have 3 kids and the 2 oldest (11 & 7) read the message a lot more than they ever read their KJV. I hihgly recommend the message to everyone that is a beginner bible reader.

I love this Bible. It puts the word of God in an easy to read and understand text. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who reads and studies the Bible. And especially if you are new to the Lord. Buy one, it will bless your heart!! God bless you all!

I have always enjoyed reading God's Word. From the first time I began reading "The Message" I saw it contained a modernized version I really enjoyed. It has given me new insite of the words that I've known for so long and made me now look further into many of it's passage contents. I, unfortunately, can't give it an Excellent rating because "The Message" does "skip out" on several different verses mostly through out the New Testament. I have read some of these and really quite can't understand why Dr. Peterson would have left some of these verses out since they weigh in quite heavily into the passage. I do point out, it's more for the bible students (or as my Pastor says, "Bible scholars") because as it can help it may also mislead. I'm sure you have read some of the negative things so I'll give you an example of something I personally liked. On Psalm 91:15 the King James reads: "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him." (KJV). The Message reads: "Call me and I'll answer, be at your side in bad times; I'll rescue you, then throw you a party." Can you believe that?!?!?! The Maker of heaven and earth will not only hear me, answer me and be with me in bad times but He will even throw a party in my honor! Show me off to His friends. Tell them all the good things about me.
I find these good, penetrating parts and see the ones that are missings and follow the words of the Apostle Paul, "...retain what is good and reject what is not."

I have really tried to read and understand the Bible mostly the King James version. And the wording is difficult to follow. The Message uses common everyday language. And since the verse #'s are over to the side you can read it more like a book from cover to cover. You aren't distracted by which verse it is and what chapter you are in. This particular version is small enough to take with you anywhere, it will even fit in your purse. I think this would be a really nice Bible for teenagers too. It would be super easy for them to understand. This is more of a reading Bible not one that you would take to church to follow along with your pastor. Just because of the paraphrasing you would not be able to follow along word for word. I read this Bible at home and use it along with my other versions to study. I really love it!

I love the Message Bible. In my opinion, this Bible is great for any age who can read. It is so easy to understand. It reads in the way we speak today. I highly recommend this version of the Bible for everyone!!!

I really like this bible. I bought it because I already had the first Message bible and wanted the remix because it has the scriptures numbered. This is a really good modern language bible. I really like the design of it also. It's a fun book to carry because of the design and it's a great alternative to the King James version bible.
I use this bible for better understanding of the King James version.
I don't recommend this bible for study reading. It contains no cross reference chain scriptures in it. It seems to be a good parallel bible.
I recommend this bible for parents to read to their kids. It is a bible that can be easily understood by age levels from about age 8 and up.
Overall I give this remix bible a great buy rating.

I was taking a Bible study and the leader was using The Message Bible. I really like the version of this Bible. I really like the straight forward language that it is written in. I wanted one of these Bible and they were so expensive in a book store. Since I am on a limited income, I brought one at a very reasonable price on ebay. I really am enjoying the Bible and I enjoy the bargains that I get on ebay.

This has been one of the easiest translations of The Bible to read yet!!!! It has enhanced my studying of God's word. I have checked it often with the KJV and it is always saying the same thing but with much more understanding in the words we use today. I get lots of compliments on the "cool" cover and the group of teens I teach actually want to use it and find it easy to read and understand.

I actually looked at this book at a local Christian Bible and Book store. I like the book as soon as I saw it, but wasn't interested in paying the expensive store price. Why not look on Ebay? Sure enough, it was there. What I like the most about this book is that it is written in an everyday language. The Bible is a hard book to understand. This book puts the words in today's terms so that we can understand it easier. The only downfall I can find in the book is the small print. The Bible I have been using actually has large print, but I can sacrifice a smaller print to be able to understand Bible literature better. Highly recommended to anyone, because we all need God.

I once had a copy of The Message at my work,I was happy that some one picked it up from a lunch shelf and did not return it. It would seem that this person was very much interested in reading The Message. So I purchased another copy from E-bay, Bible Blue, and I will start a-fresh with another copy , hopefully that another person will want a copy but will ask first.Blessings to all of you that reads it's words, because it is still the Word of God.

I love the Bible. Nothing better than the Words of God. This translation is one that anyone can understand and brings the biblical text to our times. It is sturdy and durable, and a great vaue.

I love it and I'm so glad I purchased this one. It's been a good one to read to our children. They can understand it easily. My 8 yr. old can read it on his own real well.
I look forward in buying the large print one that comes out this Spring!

The Message on the hyper colors is awesome, the cover is just great plus all you know about the way the message was written and printed. Highly recommend.

Best Bible I've ever had. Even better than "The Clear Word" Bible. This is the best translation I have ever seen in all my reading! I went to Biblegateway.com & tested the various translations there; but this is, by far, the most lively, accurate, and sincere translation of God's Word that I know of.

This Bible is like the King James version; however, it's so much easier to understand. It's in "our" language of today. The Bible also gives an introduction to all chapers/person who wrote the chaper. The Bible is a really neat color too. I think it's the best Bible ever!

The Message/Remix Bible we bought was exactly what we wanted at a great price. This Bible was also delivered quickly. We would certainly buy from this seller again.

This is a reworded bible worded by a pastor, It is probably 98% truthful, and I like to read it when I don't have time for my other bible. It is really easy to understand, and is great!
