The Message by Eugene Peterson (2005, Paperback)

I love The Message. It puts the Word in just plain English. It is only a paraphrase and not a translation though. But I bought it because I love to read it and it wasgenuine leather at a great price.

First, let me say that the Bible is it's own review. This version, "The Message" is awesome. I love the layman's dialect it is written in. It makes me think about how the New Testament was originally written in Koine Greek which is the layman's Greek. The Message is truly that the Gospel Message printed so all can read and understand.

For a general personal reading Bible, there's nothing better than The Message. My pastor preaches out of it every Sunday, which makes it even better for me when I read it.

If you're looking for a Bible, I'd highly recommend The Message.
