Mercy Streets (DVD, 2009)

Movie has a good theme about forgiveness and brothers coming together to get over a bad past and past mistakes. Movie has many good moments and would rate it good but could have been better. They spend too much time trying to make the bad brother bad or at least look bad and the good brother a saint in beginning. Some parts are almost unrealistic, he is so smart he can out wit vendors for $10 and take a gun from gang banger but cannot get away from the boss and also keeps getting back in prison? They also could have better explained the past of the brothers earlier on in the movie. Before you get all the details the movie is almost over and about the time you start enjoying the story line the movie is over. Spends to much time on negatives and not enough on highlights. Missed out on romantic moments and really pulling out and flying high at the end. Could have had a double wedding or "cross" married based on issues between brothers and their girlfriends and how much they liked each other's girlfriends. One of the brothers at the end is cruel to the others girlfriend (stupid part). Movie kind of left future relations out of the picture. Liked slow motion and trickster moments in the movie and money deals. Great theme. Would watch again but not right away, maybe in three to six months.
