The Mephisto Club by Tess Gerritsen (2006, Hardcover)

Another good one by Tess. She seems to make every book in this series new and different, and this one is no exception. Every book seems like a continuation but a spin off at the same time, so you don't need to read the previous books but if you do it gives you an extensive background on all the characters...making the current book that much better of a read. Alone you will like it, but as the newest in the series you will love it.

This was a great mystery book, but not Gerritsen's best. But I must say that there were surprises in it that I didn't think would happen. It is a MUST read for all Gerritsen fans!!!

Vanish, by Tess Gerritsen, was a good book, & her style of writing was enoyable, & easy to read. But The Mephisto Club was written in a complicated, hard to understand series of events, that just didn't hold my interest...Too many things going on....Not an easy book to read, nor remember.

Tess Gerritsen is an excellent writer. Most of her books deal with the medical suspense/thriller subjects. This club has a theory that satan is among us. With the grisley appearance of a corpse on their doorstep, it's clear that someone-or something -is indeed prowling the city of Boston. Is the killer one of their own?

If you are following Jane and Dr. Isles, you will be hooked with this book!! Awesome characters, compelling twists and turns. You'll love this book.

This book took a great series of powerful ideas, good, evil, coexistence, running from the past, secret societies, religious skepticism, and tormented family histories, and just missed on every single everyone. It felt like reading through a scrabble bag of scenes only connected by the fact that the width of the book, like the size of the board, is finite. Many ideas were introduced and few resolved without any deeper commentary on the condition of the characters. If you want some mindless way to engage in cheap suspense, this book just might do.

I read reviews about this book and had pretty much decided I didn't want to read it. I thought it was about Evil, the Dark Side, and all things unholy. I had no desire to even "go there" and although I am a big fan of Tess Gerritsen, I was going to let this one go by. I found a great price for the book on eBay and decided to go ahead and get it. If it was too frightening, I could just give it away. Well, once I started reading, I couldn't stop. It was a page turner of a novel and I didn't know the villain until the very end. Very well written and the story advances smoothly and with credibility. I loaned the book to a friend and she couldn't put the book down either.

Tess Gerritsen is a wonderful writer. If you have never read any of her novels, I can recommend them highly. If you read one, you will ultimately read them all. "The Mephisto Club" is excellent.

Tess Gerritsen has become a favorite of mine. Her medical thrillers and soo good! Once you start reading, you cannot put it down.

My fiance has been reading this author and didn't want to pay full retail. The book came just as explained with no problems, we enjoyed the prompt service and she loves the book. Thank you.

This book like all of Tess's book is up to her usual standards. I look forward to the next one. I wish she was more prolific and wrote more books.
