Men in Black II (DVD, 2002, Special Edition; Widescreen; 2-Disc Set)

More remake than sequel, Men in Black II safely repeats everything that made Men in Black the blockbuster hit of 1997. That's fine if you loved the original's fresh humor, weird aliens, and loopy ingenuity, but as sequels go, it's pure déjà vu. Makeup wizard Rick Baker is the only MIB alumnus who's trying anything new, while director Barry Sonnenfeld and costars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones (as alien-fighting agents Jay and Kay, respectively) are on autopilot with an uninspired screenplay. The quest of a multitentacled alien--on Earth in the form of Lara Flynn Boyle--for the light of Zartha requires Jay to deneuralize Kay, whose restored memory contains the key to saving the planet. The tissue-thin premise allows all varieties of special effects--mostly familiar, with some oddly hilarious new stuff tossed in for good measure. Certainly enjoyable as a popcorn distraction, but the MIB magic has worn a bit thin.

Almost as good as first movie. Acting is good, comic parts are pretty well done. Have first movie and wanted to add this to my collection. Worth watching more than once.

I rented it about 10 times before I decided to stop wasting money and just get my own copy! Now we watch it with our kids once every few months. Its a good funny movie with not a lot of violence!

It was a fun movie...and nice sequel to an even better movie. Good laughs as always with anything starring Will Smith...

good to watch every now and then I guess

I am trying to replace my VHS collection of videos with DVD's and this is the most economical way to do it and with the discounted shipping and mailing charge it makes it possible to purchase more DVD's than I normally would. DVD came in a timely manner and in excellent condition.

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are excellent in this movie. This in my opinion was the best. If you have not seen this movie, this is a must see but you do have to watch the first one to understand what is going to be going on in the second. Wished they would have done a Men in Black III.

Unlike many sequels, this one is as funny as the first! I highly recommend adding it to your library of DVDs to watch over & over!

I bought this movie for my mom because it is one of her favorites, it is also one of my favorites too. We already had the first Men in Black and got tired of renting the second one so buying it has been a good choice.

I bought this movie for my son and so I could add it to my collection.This is a great movie.I highly recommend this movie to everyone.It's a very funny movie and full of laughs.

Everyone from my 4 year old to my 38 year old husband loves this movie. Lots of fun, as long as you remember you are watching an alien movie.

For a way out Sci-Fi movie it is pretty good. If Flows a little jerky at first but, it makes up for it later. Altogether an impressive second movie for Men in Black.
