Memoirs of a Geisha by Original Soundtrack (CD, Nov-2005, Sony Classical)

After seeing the movie I wanted the Soundtrack and very glad I did. The music is Beautiful and easy to listen to. If you like YoYo Ma and Itzak Perlman you will love this. No regrets and I highly reccomend it.

This soundtrack is absolutely beautiful,haunting and evocative of a lost time and place and innocence.

I bought this soundtrack a couple of weeks ago and WOW! thats my take on it. its absolutely amazing, i love it. John williams(composer/conducter) and Yo-yo Ma(the solo cello) did a fantastic job with this music. just hearing it reminds me of the movie...lol. Which is the intial reason why i bought it (yes i liked the movie that much...not as good as the book, but still good.LOL)But now i love it just becasue its just that wonderful. I give this 2 thumbs up!

Now for the movie. the movie memoirs of a geisha is one of the few book to movie adaptations that i actually enjoyed. To many times have i been dissapointed because i read a great book just for it to have a crappy movie based on it, but not with this! If u haven't seen the movie go watch it.

I was moved by the visuals in the movie. I heard the music on the net and had to own the CD. John Williams did it again. Wonderful!

How can a soundtrack NOT be excellent with the talents of Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman doing the cello and violin, under the composition and direction of John Williams! Enough said.

i bought it for a christmas gift,the seller never sent it so i can't tell you about it,so if i could get my money back or the cd i would be thankful

I love classical music(most of it anyway.)and this album was awesome! No other word for it. Soothing and relaxing, this soundtrack is great for those who want to mellow out on the weekends!!!!

John Williams is truely the composer of our day. With Memoirs of a Geisha, he captures the history and culture of Japan. With featured artists and a true sense of what his music needs to communicate, this soundtrack is definately an excellent addition to any collection. It calls upon all the right instruments at all the right moments to portray the happiness, the anger, and the confusion of the movie. It's great!

Music is part of growing up, Air Force heritage...very soothing and relaxing whether at home or in my car. Bought it because I like it and the movie.
