Meet the Spartans (DVD, 2009)

This one is neither good or funny....

Created after 300 this one lacks any real humor even the Britney seen is pitiful....
It would be hard to create humor using the fight seens so many a little more wity banter would have made this flick at least bearable.

Overall a pretty big waste of time.

My daughter-in-law rented the movie and I never laughed so hard!
It's a spoof type movie..to watch it the first time around you wouldn't think anything was hilarious about it it, but there is and there's too much seriousness in the world and to have a little laughter breaks up the doldrums!
I never thought I would laugh so hard, but I did!

If you enjoy a good parody (i.e. spoof comedy) and can stomach all the usual crude and bathroom-type humor we have come to expect from these types of films, you will love this movie.

Following in the footsteps of other more recent spoofs (Scary Movie series, Epic Movie...) Meet the Spartans pokes fun of previously released movies, in this case action films- mainly the movie 300 (although the fight scenes are a little more remniscent of Monty Python!). However, one thing that sets this movie apart from some of the others is that it also pokes fun of reality TV shows (including American Idol & America's Top Model) and several recent celebrity meltdowns, including the Tom Cruise scientology incident (on Oprah) & the ongoing the Britney Spears saga. So even if you havn't seen all of the action films you are still going to be able to get the jokes. And of course, Carmen Electra, who has become a staple in these types of films, holds a leading role this time. Which reminds me of one other thing that is different about this movie- there is a lot of sexual humor (i.e. Carmen Electra- what do you expect?) and also violence against children- which I thought was a bit over the line :(

In this film King Leonidas (played by Sean Maguire) leads a group of 13 Spartan warriors into battle against the massive Persian army (that includes Ghost Rider and the Transformers) who are threatening to invade and dominate Sparta. While he is on crusade, the Queen (Electra) attempts to gain the people's support for the war by whatever means necessary.

This was a great movie. I was laughing through the whole thing. Highly recommend it.If you like funny movies this is one I would invest in.

A little short in legnth with too much gross out and the repetitive trailer is annoying BUT, given that, its truly funny in certain scenes and the actors do a good job because they all seem to be having fun. It is what it is!
I bought the DVD because I saw parts of it on cable that cracked me up.
By the way, ignore the comments of any reviewers who can't spell.
