) I love this story it is an introduction into the life of Samantha. You get to live in that time period through the story. I like how it focuses on real issues during that time like child labor. It isn't all sugar coated and all fairytale like. It deals with real issues a 10 year old might deal with during the early 1900's. My daughter and I love the entire series.

I enjoyed reading these books as a kid and now my girls are enjoying them. These books are simple but fun reads and our girls really get into the story lines. The writing is prefect for young girls between the ages of 7-13. I am 26 and still enjoyed reading this book when I received it this week.

American girl charmer!Meet Samantha is a charming story about a Victorian girl Linked to the American Girl Doll Samantha. This story brings the doll to life in her authentic Victorian era clothing, A story of Family and friends sure to please any girl lucky enough to own one of these precious dolls or not. The book is historically correct giving its young reader a sense of history as well as knowledge of how a girl in 1904 would have lived. Turning a doll into a tool that teaches history while delighting her owner is truly a wonderful concept. I purchased this book to replace the original that had been worn thin by my own daughter and will pass her doll and these wonderful stories to my granddaughter. I hope she will be treasured and instill in her a love of reading and a joy of learning it gave my daughter. Five stars to Susan Adler for her wonderful series of delightful stories.
