The series, American Girls, is a wonderful series and girls love them. Being a teacher, I am constantly looking for new series for my girls and this is a great one. Kaya is the newest American girl and gives girls a new perspective on what being an American is.

  good book series
Review created: 02/15/09

This book mainly talks about how bragging can be harmful to you. Yes, this is a book about Indians, but that doesn't bother us. It's like the saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" These books are really only about 60 pages long sometimes shorter, but includes pictures. Also, the pages are in large print. However, now anything over size 14 font annoys me.

Sweet story that incorporates Native American values,

I bought the book for my granddaughters. but read it myself. It's a sweet story, but I love the lessons taught about trust, respect and responsibility. Like other American Girl books it teaches history in a painless format. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the pronunciation key, but judging by the acknowledgments, the book was well researched.

  American Girl Kaya Book Set
Review created: 11/07/08

These books are delightful for young readers and pre-teens alike. Not only do they offer a great story and life lessons but each of them tell you something unique about the history of the group the girl comes from. Kaya is a Nez Perce girl and her people are very interesting to read about. I think any young girl would enjoy these books very much. My girls like them and I am 36 and I enjoyed the first one enough to want to read all of them myself.
