A truly indispensable guide for nurses and doctors.

Along with a basic drug handbook and Tabor's medical dictionary, Davis' Medical Abrreviations is easily my favorite book to recommend to other nurses. Doctors and nurses constantly abbreviate on patients' charts, and it's often difficult to keep all of these abbreviations straight. Without Davis' book, I would be much more frustrated trying to figure out what doctors are trying to say. Now, all the most frequently used abbreviations are at my fingertips. It's a great timesaver! I've purchased three copies over the past twelve years and think they are a great gift to give to new grads. As the front cover perfectly illustrates, how would you interprit the following without the help of such a guide: 72 YO WDWNWM BIBA admitted to CPETU c/o PND & DOE, TBNA in EDTU last wk for CP relieved by NTG. Prev Adm for PTCA 1986, LC 1996, & TUMT 1998. ATSO Dr Kraft. With this guide, it's quick and easy to decipher this and so much more. It's very easy to use and alphabetically arranged. I highly recommend it to anyone in the medical field.
