This game is an essential item if anyone wants to install linux on their xbox via the software method (xbox-linux.org). Make sure you grab the correct CD, "MS02301L".

Awesome Graphics, up to 8 players with online multiplayer, a must for xbox junkies. Massive Destruction you dominate your opponent with most devastatingly lethal war machines ever conceived: battlmechs.

This game may not have the sharpest graphics, but it is fun to blow stuff up in a mech. Storyline and gameplay make it easily worth the $5 it will cost you.

Mech Assault is similar to Halo but the suit you wear is several stories tall and some can fly (booster jump). The ability to destroy, climb and be killed by buildings adds to the gameplay, giving the option of attack from elevation. The campaign is a good way to kill some time while the multiplayer options gives you some fun ways to play with friends or beat them down. Not great graphics but for under $10 it is well worth the money.

I got this game for free with Live, and I'm glad I did. The game was cool for maybe 15 minutes. It got very boring and repetitive. It is a great game for younger children, as all you seem to do is go around shooting things in 'cool' machine warriors.

good game worth buying, its now a "best of, platinum hits" which means it sells for about $10 or less!When bidding add in the shipping and if its more then that price you might as well go to walmart, bestbuy, target, circuit city, toysrus, or anywhere and get it for a cheap price!!

This is a very fun, easy to play shooter game with plenty of stuff to blow up! Varying levels of difficulty keep it challenging. I saw the new Transformers movie and it reminded me of seeing this game when it first came out. Just as cool as I remembered. Shop around for a good price and you can get it brand new for a steal!

The actual game itself is really easy, kind of for children, but the fun part is when you yourself, or you and another player can fight against the computer to stay "alive against impossible odds".....they call it "grinder" and it's really fast-paced....in comparison, I thought HALO was boring. The "Lone Wolf" version of Mech assault is not at all the same as the first version.

This game really disappointed me. It is a pretty old Xbox game, but it wasn't worth the 5 bucks I paid for it. I do enjoy the multiplayer mode, because i can enjoy it with my nephews without having to worry about blood and profanity.
The story mode included wayyyyyy too many cut-scenes, and not enough game-play. Also, when the producers of this game wanted to make a particular part of it seem hard, they just put in a mech for you to fight. Not good enough? Let's throw in two, or three!! Original? Not so much. If you do decide to play the sequel of this game, MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf, you'll find that the game developers fixed that, adding some elements not expected from this kind of game, and made it a little more suspenseful and unpredictable.
DISCLAIMER: Do not play this game when you are supposed to be operating heavy machinery afterward. Users may find that boredom will drive them toward sleepiness. In all seriousness, this game, although pretty dumb for me, is good for 'Tweens, like 10-12. They are old enough to hear the rare use of language, and young enough not to hate you for buying it for them for christmas.

MechAssault Purchase was WORLD CLASS!Firstly, there was NOTHING I disliked about the transaction.
I purchased MechAssault as a result of having a similar PC game and wanted one for my Xbox.
I realize that this review is for the product, and it is not intended for a review of the seller, but I have nothing but praise for the seller. I originally thought I was getting the basic version of the game, when I received an email from the seller stating that it was a "Platinum Hit."
The seller was very upfront in telling me that there was a difference in the game as described versus the one I purchased. Having worked in and around an electronics department in a major retailer, I knew what the difference was in the games and assured the seller that the discrepancy made no difference to me and that I still wanted to continue with the transaction.
I felt it was necessary to mention this, as the difference between the games was only that the "Platinum Hit" version enables it to be played online and the original version is not enabled to be played online.
So I wound up getting a better version of the game because the seller noticed the difference in the artwork for the game.
I don't look at the transaction for MechAssault as "their loss, my gain," but rather an example of how eBay is supposed to work.
Since my purchase of MechAssault, I have plated it on numerous occasions, as well as my nephew, and neither of us have had a moment's trouble with the game.
