Mean Girls (DVD, 2004, Widescreen Special Collector's Edition)

I was suckered into watching Mean Girls and thought I'd quickly be asking for 90 minutes of my life back... not so! This movie was surprisingly fun, humorous and wildly sarcastic. But then again - what would you expect from Saturday Night Live's Lorne Michaels? Lindsay Lohan - the pre partying / coke / craziness Lindsay Lohan - plays the role pretty well and this will probably be the best performance of her dying career (me complimenting her is VERY rare - herbie?!!). But the star is Rachel McAdams who is sensationally cute and very funny. The movie has a pretty great cast - Amy Poehler and Tina Faye are also excellent. But the movie's bright spot is the writing and the wit. Super sarcastic and pokes fun at pop-culture... its just ironic that Lindsay Lohan is the one doing it becaues pop-culture has sucked her away. Buy Mean Girls - Its deliciously mean!

My college-aged daughter an I have enjoyed this movie since it first came out. We decided it was time for it to join our home DVD library. It is SMARTLY written and has a fresh cast, especially at the time it came out. It has very creative comparisons to African bush animal pecking orders etc to present day high school girls, BFFs and dating relationships that Linsay Lohan must adapt from - as she was home schooled with anthropologist parents doing field work. The movie takes an anthropological viewpoint in a way by allowing Lohan's character view present day high school, the rules and mean girls as almost an outsider - then trying to fit in as she enters public high school for the first time. Highlights the truths of teen relationships (incl the female BFFs and otherwise)well in a comedic coming of age movie. One for the DVD library for sure! Love it!

This is one of the cutest movies I've ever seen! It's comedic not only for teenage girls, but for grown girls too! If you like comedy, this is a good one!

I love this movie!! It is so funny. Tina Fey is brilliant in her writing and her acting. I laugh everytime i see this movie. I recommend it to all my friends.

"Mean Girls" has a message for young "Tween-age" ( parents and educators, there are some mature themes here) girls about being kind to others, and staying true to your friends. Watching "Mean Girls" with a teen or tween who feels picked-on at school and talking about strategies to politely redirect criticism while avoiding being unkind to others is a conversation starter. I would recommend this movie for parents or mental health counselors who work with young people who might feel singled out or hazed.

This movie is one of the funniest in a long time! I am not much of a fan of Lindsey Lohan, but she is magnificent in this movie! (as is the rest of the cast). This one is definitely full of laughs around every corner!

If you want HS cliques with a little bit of fun, excitement, romance, and comedy Mean Girls is what you're looking for.

This movie is great! My 12 year old daughter loves it even more than I do. She is just starting to come up against "mean girls" in school and can totally relate to the subject matter in this flim. She watches it over and over and never tires of seeing the "meanies" get theirs in the end. It makes her feel like she's not the only one in the world dealing with this issue. As a parent I object to some of the language but it really isn't that bad in the scheme of things. I would suggest that mothers watch it with their daughters the first time. Tina Fay has done a great job confronting this issue with hummor. Bravo!

The trailer caught me, I liked the sarcastic flavor. I happened to see it on the big screen, and I litterly laughed til I cryed. The class divisions in high school have a new fresh twist. Cool parents (that aren't cool) emotional meltdowns,and just plain ackwardness. Lorne Michaels (Saturday Nite Live !!)is the master of sharpening the sarcastic one liners to a razors edge. If you like new experiences and tense comedy that just gets better, with unexpected turns along the way, you will love this movie.

I got my wife this movie for Christmas and have still not heard the end of thank yous. I personally don't care for the movie but my wife loves it. So guys if your looking for a gift for that special woman look no further.

I really enjoyed this movie - I thought it was well cast, had a good soundtrack, and some very sharp writing. It does a great job of showing how harrowing and volatile one's high school experience can be, and how even with the best of intentions you can lose yourself among the shallowness of your peers in your quest for self-identity/affirmation. Had some really funny moments in it, and ultimately a lesson to be learned. I recommend this film to anyone who is interested in a well-shot comedy that doesn't resort to repeated references to bodily functions for all its laughs.

One of my favorite movies. I decided to buy it because I got tired of renting it! :] It's a big teen movie, and I still love it at the age of 25! Everyone can relate to the petty girls of high school and all the drama that came along with it!

Tina Fey wrote a pretty good piece of work with her freshman writing debut. This is a dark comedy and worth a viewing or two. The acting in this isn't the greatest and sure there are some areas that could have been funnier, overall you will enjoy this movie.

It is definitely suitable for older kids, so rent it for the teen girls sleepover and you'll enjoy watching as well.

This film wanted to be a remake of Heathers, a much better teen-girl flick. It flops right from the start and never really builds any interest for the viewer. I don't recommend getting this film -- maybe worth a rental on a night when you're really bored and feel like you've watched everything else. And only then would I recommend watching this with a good stiff drink.

This is a very funny movie. I saw it awhile ago and decided to buy it when I saw how cheap it was! It is worth watching!

i like how fast the delivery came. i love that it was in good condition, but i didnt like is that it didnt come in original package. i bought it because i really wanted to buy thins movie but i couldnt find it at walmart plus it was cheaper here :)

Mean Girls is one of Lindsay Lohan's better movies, and it also was done in a better time in life, all in all Mean Girls is funny and an excellent movie.

I love this movie, to me it's hilarious. But to some it might not. It does have a few inappropriate things, so, yes, I do suggest that whoever watches this movie is as least thirteen years of age. But it does has a good message and it is super funny!
