I love John D Fitzgerald! It's never inferior.

I first became aware of John D Fitzgerald in the mid '60s, when I read PAPA MARRIED A MORMON and fell in love with the Fitzgerald family. Later I read MAMAS BOARDING HOUSE and was so caught up in it that when I closed the book it was as if I had lost a member of my own family. Much to my surprise I found a copy of UNCLE WILL AND THE FITZGERALD CURSE in a close-out sale and was thrilled. Again I felt a sense of lost when it finished. I longed for more... By chance I discovered the GREAT BRAIN series and have been seeking hard back copies of them every chance I get. These books are written for children and young teenagers but they are so warm and human in context that I found them good to read to my offspring and grandchildren. The bonus was I was able to renew my connection with this dear family -- also remembering the times I enjoyed growning up. They are packed with truth about siblings, mischief, sadness and pain of small town life. I do not see how you could be disappointed in the story. This is the third in a series of seven; if possible start with the first and go from there. I prefer hardbacks but the paperbacks are cheaper and more easily obtained. You can even purchase them new if you like.
Would I buy more? In a heartbeat. Geri H Ball
