The McGraw-Hill 36-Hour Course in Finance for Nonfinancial Managers by Robert A. Cooke (2004, Paperback)

This course book is perfect for Managers like me who have little to no experience in the financial background area. It explains the basics, the guts and methods, trends, formulas, spreadsheets, and what you want to have as your end results in almost every situation.
The beauty of the book and the way it is written is that it explains these things in plain simple, easy language. The author never "talks down" to the reader, insults the readers intelligence, or takes for granted the reader "already knows" (assumes) what the author is presenting.
The "Finance Course" is a quick read, and a quick study. It is an essential to have in my desk Library now to Reference as needed. It will now become a part of our new hire package for incoming Managers.
The only thing I disliked about the book was the fact that it carried the math, equations, etc., to the level of an MBA. I know that is necessary for some, but not for me and became tedious.
If you need a book for your "Non-Financial Managers" or to learn more about what your Finance people are doing & talking about....this is the place to start. You will BE IN THE DARK NO MORE!
