Synopsis A young boy imagines all the fantastic and amazing fish he might catch if he just patiently bides his time while fishing at McElligot's Pool. Despite a passerby's claim that no fish can be caught in McElligot's Pool, the boy thinks he just might be able to hook (among others) a fish with a checkerboard belly, an eel with two heads, a dogfish, and a fish that is part cow. Color and b&w illustrations accompany the rhyming text.
