One of the main reasons I bought this book and several others on McCoy pottery is because I have encountered all kinds of fake pieces and reproductions for sale on Ebay and haveing made a couple of costly mistakes I decided it was time for an education. People need to be aware of the scam artists who are trying to pass off junk pieces as the "real McCoy" and this book has a great section on fakes and reproductions and how to spot them.

This book not only has full color photos, but also has pictures of early catalog pages to actually show you where the information came from and what it is based on. The pictures are excellent quality. There is also a section on fake McCoys and reproductions. This has helped me out a lot in my collecting, and also helped me weed out the fake McCoys that are marked McCoy that are out there, and there are many of them.
I am a beginning collector and this book has helped me avoid making not only costly mistakes, but I have also found some items for good deals that others did not know what they were.
I highly recommend this book! Enjoy and happy collecting

If you are unfamiliar with McCoy Wall Pockets or just beginning to collect these pieces the book will be very helpful. The print is a good size, the pictures are clear and colorful and the information provided is invaluable. The book size makes it comfortable to use, but not heavy or bulky.
I have used this book many times to identify pieces even though I have other books collecting. You won't go wrong with it.

I just started collecting McCoy pottery and decided to buy a reference book to
help in purchasing authentic pieces. I love the excellent collection of photos
and the section on fakes or reproductions I'm very happy to have such an excellent resource to help me with my purchases. This book is a very valuable tool for the novice as well as experienced McCoy collector. I highly recommend it.

THIS BOOK HAS EVERYTHING I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MCCOY WALL POCKETS. IT HAS HELPED ME BETTER UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE REAL MCCOY WALL POCKETS AND THE 'SO CALLED' REPRODUCTIONS. this is a really excellent guide. i'm really pleased to see that the author takes the time to explain various elements of mccoy painting techniques and what to watch for pertaining to the mccoy mark on knock offs. all around good guide and reference matierial for anyone wanting to buy or sell mccoy pieces. WELL worth the money. even if you don't collect mccoy, if you are going to deal in it, i would say this is a must for you to have.
