The Angel Experiment by James Patterson (2006, Paperback, Reissue)

I bought this at an airport bookstore. So engrossing, I was almost sad when my plane landed and I was only two-thirds done reading this book. A bit fanciful, it features "bird kids", children with avian DNA grafted onto them. What does that mean? It means they can fly.

The book is nonstop action as the children are constantly pursued by deadly Erasers intent on capturing them and bringing them back to The School. The School is where the children were forced to live in cages and endure painful experiments.

Though I had a hard time getting past the main character's name, "Maximum Ride," I did fall in love with Max, the strong caretaker of her flock of kids. A section of the book where she accepts kindness from a mother figure was particularly touching and realistic.

Can't wait to read the sequel!

I can't say enough about the "Maximum" series. I have never been so engrossed in a book.The way the experience of flying was discribed was as if the writer had actually flown himself. I can't forget that it all started in the book
"When the Wind Blows" and then "Lake House". All 4 books are of the same senario. Reading all 4 was a real blast for me. My 12 year old son has read the 1st 2 so far. I would tell anyone who loves an adventure to reas these books.Even if you are not adventerous, you will love them.You will find yourself wishing you could fly.I decided to by the book because James Patterson wrote it and I love all his books. However these 4 books are different from his usual ones. Oh but so worth reading!!

I am a James Patterson fan, I love all the books by him that I have read so far! He keeps you wanting to read more and more and hoping for a sequel to the one you have just finished. Of all Patterson's books that I have read there wasn't a thing about them I disliked. I have just finished reading Maximum Ride-The Angel Experiment and now I am ready to start on-Schools out forever. Hope he comes out with more Maximum Ride stories!! These books by James Patterson are so hard to find but keep on trying, you will find one soon, like I did.

As usual via an Ebay auction, item was in great condition and an excellent read (what would anyone expect from James Patterson!). I would definitely purchase from the seller again if the need arises. Great Ebayer and Great Book!

I read When The Wind Blows and The Lake House and was hooked. Although Maximum Ride is a new series - it has even more suspense and action. You feel like you are right there with the kids. James Patterson has a wonderful writing style. The best I've read in a long time. I can't wait to read the next one.

Love his books. Haven't finished all the of books yet. He keeps me entertained and motivated to finish everything he writes.

I bought this book in hopes that my 12 year old son will become interested in it and read it for school. The book is a really great read that will have you turning the pages for more. James Patterson is a wonderful Author!

Excellent! I really didn't know if I'd like it or not, I've never read any of Patterson's stuff. But his writing style is wonderful and exciting, and this first book is just perfect entertainment for young people and adults alike. I'm 37 and male, I usually go for H. P. Lovecraft, Frank Herbert, Barker and King. I know, I know, Herbert and Lovecraft are dead, but you can read their work over and over again, it's just that good. Anyway, way to go on this one James, I look forward to reading the rest of the series. Sincerely, J

This is the first book in the series. I read it in one day, and actually paid retail to get the rest of them. Absolutely wonderful!

The Maximum Ride series within the rest of the Patterson series of thrillers is great. A new side of Patterson that still keeps the readers on the edge. Patterson does not let you down, nor does he let down the children featured in the books. Children? You might want to read about these special young folks and share their adventures.

I purchased this book in a buy-it-now setting for a very good price. I recieved the book in a timely manner (as described by seller). The book is in very good condition, exactly as described by the sellers guidlines. I am very happy with this purchase and won't hesitate to use Bacobooks again the next time I need a book.

A current & fun book. It may have been written for teenagers to try and get them away from the evils of television, but Patterson has spun a yarn - series about Maximum Ride, that's enjoyable for any age. Grab one for your tween, teen or yourself and I'll bet you'd be surprised to see how much fun it is!

This book speaks for itself. It flows, the words fly off the page and into you like AIR! The book is young at heart! You feel like you are with the kids on their adventure through family, hope, friends and terror! Get this book, read it. I read parts of it to my young children and they loved it too. I was so excited to get started on the second book that I read this one very quickly! Once again! James Patterson ROCKS!

I purchased the book for my 13yr old son. He had read the second book in the series he recieved for Christmas. He couldn't put this one down either he said it was a great story and wish they had more books in the series.

Fast intriquing read.I have read the Patterson books this sprang from,and find the characters compelling and intelligent.The pace is fast with interesting twists and turns.
