Max Payne (PlayStation 2, 2001)

I was borderline bored with many playstation games until i got my hands on this one! this game will keep you enterained and keep you wanting to know more and more!!! as far as games telling a story this one is the best!! you will feel as if you know max payne and want to find out what happened! during the game you will have flash backs that will give you clue but you will not trully know until the end! id compare it to the best suspense movie you have ever seen! the gameplay is almost perfect and the graphics are superb for the ps2. you will feel just like you are in the game and even feel sorry for max payne and the things that happened to him. this game is my favorite and i only hope that if and when it comes out for the next gen console they wont ruin it!!! buy this game, you will not be sorry you did.

Throughout time, there have been numerous impressive game developers. But nothing will ever measure up to the greatness of Rockstar. While their action titles, such as Max Payne, don't always impress graphically, their intricate story lines, creative characters, and astonishingly well performed voice acting more than make up for it. If you liked Manhunt or any of the GTA titles, pick up Max Payne. It's fun, interesting, and above all, it's incredibly cheap. Happy Bidding!

This is a great 3rd-person action-shooter. I think this was the first game to utilize slo-mo "bullet-time" action. It's on the PS2 "Greatest Hits" list for a reason. Graphics are good and the gameplay is great.

this is just pure gaming bliss.it still holds up to this day. in fact i went back to play it last week and i still enjoyed it just as much as i did 4 years ago. recomended to any shooter fan, or anyone for that matter. enjoy!!

it looked fun on comercials ive seen so i bought it
its a challenging game
and can get very hard
but just grab a cheat book and youll be alright

The graphics could be a little better but the story line is awesome and the game play is great. Also the chactors seem like they could be real people so its an overall great game.

A game i over looked when PS2 dropped it only played the first board an sold it till i say the movie an thought "Hey this is pretty good" so i thought to my self "the Game probably was good" an i bought it an what do you know it a pretty good game minus the graphics looks like im playing N64 lol but overall imma buy pt2 an 3 -E.Nice$

This gave was bought for my father in law and son. They both say it kinda starts out slow but then it gets to going with full action. Do not regret getting this game for them. I recommend it to others.

O.K. so you're a gamer. I completely understand that. I am too. That is why I have to say Max Payne was completely and utterly insane when it debuted in 01. Who here automatically thought they were Neo dodging bullets with bullet time? I did. The graphics weren't bad either for the time and the storyline had some amazing plot twists. A definite must have for those 3rd person shooter lovers.

I bought it because I had a coupon,I thought it might be a good game.It started out to be ok,but,they must not have played deeply enough.The game has some very bad spots.I didnt know before I left feed back.I would have notified the seller.My fault for not checking before I left feed back.Ill know better next time.

Purchased this game to add to my collection of classic story line games. The graphics are good for the time period and the art work in each scene is very good. Lots of well written ads, well done pictures and there is a lot to look at if you take the time to visit each scene.

bought game aftrer watching the movie. Wisecracking Max Payne has good weapons and shooting effects(Matrix slo-mo). The scenery is a little repeatative.

Great game for PS2 and PC. surely a classic. i had to play it again after they made a movie about it. The story line is great, action is great, can cause a bit of dizziness due to 3rd person point of view(POV). [its when you see the player instead of seeing through their eyes]. other than that, awesome game. cant wait for max payne 2 ^_^

I purchased this for my nephew, I played once a long time ago (I had the PC version) It was neat to get those memories back! Great overall game

So, I had seen the movie "MAX PAYNE" a few days ago, and after hearing about how there were two games released around 2001-2002 or so, I jumped on getting it. I was somewhat surprised how easily I missed these games. Anyhow - I finally got the game in the mail, and my, it was definitely interesting. The storyline differs right from the start even - but it's still interesting and while the movie might have helped, I was already curious about the story. I read the instruction manual, and along with the tutorial, got a slight kick out of how it was implemented (the "Enemy Dispenser" was an interesting touch.. Definitely something different from other tutorials). I haven't manage to actually sit down and play far enough to my first actual save but I like what I've seen. Mostly.

Gameplay:
Eh. Controls are a bit awkward. It's a bit jumpy, and the movement style that's taken care of with both Analogue Sticks are a royal pain in the derriere so to speak.. It's going to take a while to get used to them, I know that for a fact.

Graphics:
It's dated. Very much so. Compared to GTA: Vice City (also published/made/whatever by Rockstar), there's a HUGE gap. Graphics took a fair hit - almost about Gamecube quality - for the most part, it's early PS2 quality games. It doesn't distract from the gameplay much, however the choppiness also gets worse because of the choppy and laggy framerate. A common issue for PS2 games. The models are simple and compared to the newer PS2 games there's a HUGE difference. Despite these issues it's composed well and it doesn't really dent the game.

Story:
Haven't played much but it seems interesting and involving enough, despite having seen the movie.

Other:
Dunno what else to put.. Heh. Overall I liked what I HAD managed to play, and I hope to give it a shot at actually beating the game.

Max Payne is about a vigilante cop who goes after the mafia,after his family is wiped out.It is a fun game full of non-stop action at it's best.The story line is described as a graphic novel.You can also shoot the bad guys in slow motion using bullet time.This game is cool,and I reccommend it.The load times are a little long in between levels,but thats my only complaint.I think this game is worth it for the story line alone though.It has a story that will keep you hooked,and eager to see what lies in store for Max Payne.

The game took a little while to get here, but it is in good condition, works well, and I plan to return again soon!
