Masters of Horror - Dance of the Dead
Dance of the Dead offers a great story with a really good cast, but
in the end it just doesn't come together. I think this movie
would've been better as a feature length film, giving us more time
to learn about the characters instead of cramming everything
together in 45 minutes of hell.
The only real positives of this film are the performances of
Jonathan Tucker (who is always good) and newcomer Jessica Lowndes.
Lowndes offers a slice of beauty in an otherwise dismal movie. The
ending is also pretty good, but sometimes it takes more than a good
ending to make a movie.
I did enjoy this film, it just wasn't what I expected.
Final Verdict:
2/5
Rent or Buy?: I'd recommend renting this before buying it, or
waiting until the entire series comes out in a box set. The ending
is great, but the rest of the movie just doesn't come together.
