Master and Commander: The Far Side of... by Original Soundtrack (CD, Nov-2003, Decca USA)

i first saw the movie last yr,and have since seen it a few times on tv since then, although i think the movie is ok, i thought the music in the movie was phenominal, i have never been one to buy movie soundtracks,but i bought the soundtrack to L.O.T.R. last yr and have since changed my thoughts on soundtracks. every song sound's terrific, and YO YO MA, is extrodanary!
you can easily listen to this cd while driving or reading a book and be very content

This music is powerful, and makes me feel happy! After i watched the movie and kept re-watching it to hear the music, which is never complete on the actual movie, i knew i had to have the complete soundtrack. I listen to this regularly!!

I bought this soundtrack for a friend of mine as a favor, she said the price was the lower she could find. She loved the movie and said the music was exciting.

Well its a good cd but I just figured Id like more of the tracks. I like alot of the tracks but theres a few I could do without. Then again I did get what I paid for, a soundtrack to the movie.

My son watched the movie and was especially intrigued by the music soundtrack, which was mostly classical music - odd for my Red Hot Chili Peppers son, but was thrilled to hear he was interested. Bught this for him for Christmas and we listened to it together, beautiful music, very relaxing and worth every penny!

MY FIANCE AND I ARE GOING TO USE SOME OF THE SONGS FOR OUR WEDDING CEREMONY. WE WENT TO SEE THE TALL SHIPS IN SAN PEDRO AND HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TOUR THE CALIFORNIA USED IN THE MOVIE MASTER AND COMMANDER. THAT VERY NIGHT WE WATCHED THE MOVIE ON THE BIG SCREEN AT THE WARNER GRAND THEATRE, A RESTORED CLASSIC THEATRE IN DOWNTOWN SAN PEDRO. IT WAS A MEMORABLE DATE AND WE THOUGHT WE LOVE THAT THEME SONG IN THE MOVIE; WHY NOT USE IT IN OUR WEDDING? FEATURING GREAT MASTERS OF CLASSICAL MUSIC BACH & MOZART, THE SOUNDTRACK BLENDS THE ELEMENTS OF SEAFARING AND LOVE OF NATURE WITH A SENSE OF ADVENTURE. (I COULD DO WITHOUT THE SCRIPT PART OF SOME OF THE SONGS, BUT AFTERALL IT IS A SOUNDTRACK, AND THEY HAD TO USE SOME OF THE SCRIPT AVAILABLE,, DIDN'T THEY?) I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS CD!

This is a great Soundtrack. However, I'd hoped that there would be extended versions of some of the music. Instead, it is what it says it is ... a soundtrack.

Like all soundtracks, some terrific stuff and lot's of boring stuff. I just love soundtracks and hate them for that reason. Why can't these guys who compose this great stuff just put together some great material for us to just listen to and not just compose for movies?

A near-perfect action movie...story line is great, action shots well done, and attention to detail excellent.
