Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (Blu-ray Disc)

I bought Master and Commander in Blue Ray to see if the Blue Ray hype is the significant improvement in video clarity it is touted to be. Frankly, I do not see enough difference in vidieo quality to warrant the typically double price found in most markets. The movie itself is great and the video quality is very good. I am still quite satidfied with my purchase. Oh, and yes, I do have a Blue Ray DVD player and 1080p High definition TV.

An excellent cast, a fabulous director who is a stickler for details and a great story. The British Naval customs and traditions make this movie better than any movie about the old sailing days I have ever seen. The action sequences are astounding and the special effects are awesome. If you watch it, you must watch with surround sound to appreciate the fabulous audio.
It would seem that a sequel is in order, but you can't get any better than this one. Loved it. Fun to watch again and again.
