I really enjoyed this book and it really opened my eyes to why my metabolism has been so slow. I found many things I could start doing right away as I read and learned more about the diet. For example, I weaned myself off of diet soda, I stopped microwaving things in plastic, I don't drink water out of plastic bottle (I actually bought a stainless steel water bottle here on ebay)and I started buying more things organic. The hardest part for me about this concept has been finding organic meat and produce. I don't live very close to a store that offers truly organic produce but the book does offer many resources to find organic and I'm checking those out now.
Although Jillian is known for her hard core beliefs in exercise, etc., she doesn't focus completely on exercise. She shows the reader how we are affecting our health by the things we eat every day. She also talks about chemicals in everyday household products, cosmetics, etc.
Ever wonder why kids are bigger now, and mature sooner than they used to. This book will answer some of those questions for you and explain how things we eat, drink and use everyday and affecting our hormones and so much more.
The way of life explained in this book will not be an easy way of life, but in my opinion, it is well worth it. It is also more economical in the long run when it saves you $1000's on medical bills and medications. You will just have to take it one step at a time and one day at a time.
