I LIKE THIS ALBUM, THIS IS A GOOD CD, 50 REPRESENTS

I can't believe all those bad reviews I've been reading. I got this album because I liked his songs on the radio and I am completelly satisfied with my buy. I didn't even like rap until I got this CD and now I am all into it. I own a couple more of 50's stuff and it's all good. He represents the struggle of living in New York as a hustler. His lyrics are real specially the song called " Piggy bank ". Other songs that come to mind are Disco Inferno, Ski Mask way, Guns come Out, Candy Shop... And thats only on top of my head, I am impress I remember the tittles because I don't even know a lot of the tittles of the songs from the rock bands I listen to. If it wasn't good then why does it sell so much ???

  50 Cent "dun'" flopped again
Review created: 10/20/05

Beat selection mediocre, this cd is obviously a minors cd who rather pay attention to an instrumental rather than quality of lyrics. Funny thing about when people mention Dr.Dre these are the same brainless children who never read the credits,Dr. Dre probably does 2/10 of the work put into a instrumental, so let the credit be given to who deserves it. Anyways, back to 50 cent lyrics are far below mediocre almost as bad as the rest of the G-Unit and Cassidy and "Young Jeezy". Anyways, any legit hip hop head should look else where, such as Az not Jay Z , Nas , Immortal Technique, Slick Rick , Krs one. People bring hip hop back to life

  50 CENT FANATIC

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

The Massacre [PA] - Cent, 50 (CD 2005)
Review created: 09/26/08
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Following up one of the biggest debuts in hip-hop history, crack dealer turned charisma dealer 50 Cent makes some bold moves, recycles plenty of old ideas, and sprinkles in some perfect party singles for The Massacre. Crafty man that he is, 50 must have known following up the massive Get Rich or Die Tryin' was going to be extremely difficult, especially for a rapper rightfully known more for creating headlines than rhymes. To cushion the blow, 50 released an album by his G-Unit crew, made numerous guest appearances on other artist's tracks, and helmed ten mixtapes in his G-Unit Radio series. It kept the debut momentum moving and it's half the reason why The Massacre doesn't feel like Get Rich's proper successor, the other half being the album's effortless attitude. That's the most frustrating thing about the otherwise satisfying Massacre. At worst, it feels unfinished, and at best, it feels like a mixtape cobbled together from mostly choice tracks but without that overseer's polish. At a stunning, slightly overstuffed 78 minutes, it's overwhelming, too, but without a perfect flow to hold the listener's hand the whole way through, it's also a testament to 50 and crew that The Massacre doesn't test your patience until after the one-hour mark. Silly and short intro out of the way, the slinky "In My Hood" gets down to business and gives way to four tracks of the same-old, same-old bravado and beats that are still just as stunning and catchy as hell. "I'm Supposed to Die Tonight" and "Gatman and Robbin" are both great tracks from the quirky/macabre house of Eminem, but it's the Fat Joe-dissing "Piggy Bank" that steals the show. Like "Candy Shop," "Outta Control," "Disco Inferno," and on and on, "Piggy Bank" succeeds because of its serviceable rap, believable swagger, inescapable hook, and phatter than phat beats. For those who've had it with the gunshots, the Shady/Aftermath boasting, and the usual "G-G-G-G-Unit!" shouts, The Massacre has just enough surprises. Besides mentioning Kurt Cobain and Ozzy Osbourne, "A Baltimore Love Thing" is the big shocker as 50 poignantly tells the tale of a heroin-addicted girlfriend destroying all that's good. "Ryder Music" is more easygoing than expected, "Build You Up" (featuring Jamie Foxx) is actually sweet, and "God Gave Me Style" has just about the dreamiest beat in the G-Unit universe. Scott Storch, Dr. Dre, and Eminem are the only big names in the producer's chair, but everyone else serves up fine tracks, especially the great Needlz. Guest spots are kept to a bare minimum and besides the intro, skits are nonexistent. Trim a couple tracks and a couple beefs and rearrange the album and you have what sounds like Get Rich's lesser sequel, but The Massacre doesn't look back. It really just wants to challenge other rappers' albums and not its predecessor. Taken that way, it's an excellent effort.

  Getting too commercial

I love 50 cent and what he brings to the rap game, but he's gone a little too commercial with this album. But hey, if you're into that, than this album is for you.

50 Cent has turned into Ja Rule...
Review created: 10/06/05

1 of 4 people found this review helpful.

50 Cent has turned into Ja Rule. The rapper that he dissed is now the same one he's trying to impersonate. Candy Shop and other songs on his album are sung with a girl named Olivia. The Massacre also only has TWO songs produced by Dr. Dre. All of the other beats suck, except for a few. And the lyrics are a step down from "Get Rich and Die Tryin."

Stay away from this horrible album. Buy The Game - The Documentary instead for some awesome lyrics and beats.

  The Massacre By 50 Cent
Review created: 10/17/09

I wouldnt say this is 50s best Cd ever, but its good. If you had to pick between "Get rich or die tryin'" or "The Massacre" I would recommend "Get Rich". With that said this is a great album, with hit songs Candy Shop and Lil bit. If you have 50's first cd i would recommend this cd to you. to newbies stick with the classics and get his first CD. I mainly buy 50's Cds because I love eminem. I have everyone of his CDs. You don't hear a whole lot of Em in this CD but its still really good.

  Hard Album; Great Emotion
Review created: 08/15/09

50 Cent uses this album as a way to get his anger out i think, but the music is great. The beats in this album are hot and are great for getting pumped up. This album should be taken care of and treasured s one of 50's greatest musical accomplishments. I more than recommend!!!!!!!

Fitty has turned into what he hates
Review created: 11/21/05
0 of 3 people found this review helpful.

50 Cent has turned into what he hates. A pop song diva. He has radio catchy tunes here. And they aren't even good ones at that. By about 4 songs into it, it has become old hearing a corus sung by 50 and the sam lyrics over and over. He lost the touch on this one without Dre's beats. He should start taking some time to put some quality into his work instead of trying to trun out as many things as fast as possible.
