Mass effect is a role playing game in which you are Commander Shepard set to adventure through all of space to complete different missions and unearth many secrets while meeting many new aliens. The first thing you notice in this game are the great graphics. They are very smooth and the characters have realistic expressions. One of the great things about this game is that you control your character. What He or She looks like, their class, and their whole life story is up to you. You are also able to control all of your conversations, either playing the bad boy role or the good guy. One of the things i liked about the game is the freedom you have. While doing different missions you can sidetrack and do side missions. One of the bad things is that sometimes the game can be to drawn out at some parts but the story line is really great and intriguing. The combat is pretty good, all the different weapons, and combat skills. You can upgrade your character and other people in your group. OVerall I give this game 4 out of 5 stars, it could use a little work, and may need some time to adapt to but its really good and fun, give it a try and it should work out for you. Report this review Reviews Great Story; Great GameWell, I suppose that the best thing about this game is that if it were a movie or story by itself, it would do pretty well. The plot is solid and the characters engaging. Add to that the fact that it is interactive (a video game instead of a movie) and you get a terrific experience. If all there was to this game that you explored space and watched intense battles and chose the course of the story as it unfolded, it would have been a rewarding experience. Now mix in the RPG elements and solid game play in battle and you have a gaming experience that is complete in its enjoyment. Definitely worth at least 2 or 3 play throughs. Highly recommended! Using biotic lift on a group of enemies, watching them float helplessly, then force pushing an explosive barrel into them, then commanding my squad mates to fire ice rounds at them watching the whole group fall frozen to the ground shattering on impact. Basically using all the different customizable weapons along with the good amount of biotic and tech abilities, all with incredible effects, make this game so exciting to play many times. The only thing thats wrong with the game is that it tends to lag quite often. Although it does not make the game horrible to play, it does get annoying on occasion. Also, I would like to see more ability to explore more planets in more systems. There are many star systems and clusters in the game which makes it seem astronomically huge at first, but you soon will realize that only one planet in each system can be landed on. Although there are the few negatives I have mentioned, I still give this game an excellent rating because of how much fun it is. The negative aspects of the game do very little to make the game less fun. In all honesty, this game is more than worth your money if you like any of the following: third person shooters, Knights of the old republic, any type of sci-fi such as star wars or battlestar galactica, etc. I hope this review helps and have fun gaming!
