I like this book. Not your run-of-the-mill knitting book. Ideas are very fresh and I for one, am very motivated. Few knitting books inspire me to obtainable goals. Good for you, ladies! Thanks.

this book is a hoot, it is great reading, very entertaining with lots of great useful patterns, down to earth understanding of every day needs for household knitted items, since Ann is from Nashville and I live in the Nashville area, I felt a bond of it was written by a good friend. Thanks girls for closing the gap on plain old fashioned knitting, the easy way to dress up almost anything!

  Unique Knitting Book
Review created: 04/25/09

This is a great book. It has beautiful pictures and some patterns I plan to use over and over again. Many are very useful and quick to knit such as the washclothes, hand towels, and baby bibs. The Absorba Great Bathmat made out of two stands of Peaches and Creme looks so fun to quickly knit. Many of the blankets look easy enough to knit but more complicated when finished. I keep this book on my coffe table so I can look through it often. The contents are divided in a unique way: being a beginner; knitting around the house; log cabin knitting; family projects; over the top, or true artists; and community knitting. One item I am anxious to knit are the felted boxes. The book is fun to read and it has several question and answer pages. I recommend this book for its uniqueness, beautiful pictures, and some very interesting patterns.

Don't judge a book by its cover....

I purchased this book for my love, she is very in to knitting, and I must say she is very good at it. She saw this book in one of the local fabric shops and showed an interest in it. I then found it online for 1/2 the price. I gave it to her and she was so thrilled. There are so many very cool projects to make. She said that she didn't think this was going to be this fantastic by the looks of the cover. It is truly a great book.

  Humorous Informative Knitting Pattern Book
Review created: 05/04/08

Mason Dixon Knitting has a lot of patterns that both a beginning and advanced knitter will enjoy. I am a beginner knitter who heard about this book on the "Knit Picks" podcast where it had a favorable rating. There a lot of knitting projects for the home, baby blankets, bibs, and dish clothes which allow you to learn new skills. In addition to the patterns are humorous commentaries on Ann's and Kay's experiences with knitting. The book itself is large hard cover book with lots of pretty color photos. The web site provides additional information and forums to add to the knitter's enjoyment of Mason-Dixon Knitting.
