A great suspense/thriller written by the Master James Patterson!
My third Patterson (I know, why am I reading the 11th Alex Cross novel first?) and I loved it all the way till the end, and then I really didn't like it so much.
Don't get me wrong, this book is well written, and traps you in its mystery. The ending just doesn't do it for me. I don't know what it was about the ending that made me so mad, but I just felt dissapointed by it. It wasn't predictable, and it was a good twist, something just didn't sit well with me.
I wish I could just tell you the ending and tell you exactly why I didn't like it, but I don't want to ruin the story for anybody else.
Final Verdict:
3/5
Borrow or Buy?: If you're a Patterson fan the ending won't bother you (my mother loved it) but being new to Patterson, I think this isn't his best work. That being said, up until the part that disappointed me this was my favorite Patterson novel, Go figure. A good read ending problems or no ending problems.

Very good condition. Great book. I love James Patterson's books and just happened to miss buying this one when it came out. Much, Much cheeper than buying in the store.
As an audiobook addict, I have to say this one was done very well. The "script" was read by three different people which always adds to drama. The mystery here will also hold your attention, moving through some gory serial murders until Alex Cross figures it all out. Actually I didn't until the end. Great listen as are most of the Patterson stories.
Patterson does it again. I truly enjoyed this book on CD -- I didn't figure out "who done it" until they revealed it at the end of the book. I give it two thumbs up.
The was my 4th novel of the Alex Cross series, the one moves you around the States and works your mind in the same way. There are some great twist and turns which James Patterson is a masterful writer. The only thing I felt a little bother by was the ending, but I don't go into all that, since I do believe this is a very good novel to read or listen too. Don't miss out of another of Patterson's great novels. I promise it won't leave you lost but wanting more and more. A book you won't put down till you finish it.

Interesting and enjoyable. Definately a must for any James Patterson fan. Just when you think you have it figured out you see the wrench that has been thrown into the very beginning.
As a fan of James Patterson's detective Alex Cross novels, this one, in my opinion, is one of his best. The book takes you into back and forth, across the country and across the mind...or minds...of a psychopath. You never quite figure the whole thing out until the very end, just like FBI agent Alex Cross does. I am so hoping this novel will be made into a movie, as it would have you on the edge of yor seat the whole time. The only thing I have to say I didn't enjoy was the plot line of Alex Cross' personal life, even though I was interested in the outcome of his personal problems, I felt it was over emphasized in this novel.
The Best Book of the Alex Cross series. Not only is the book very well done. But it also allows you to see the personal side of the character as well as the proffessional side. The listener feels like a voyeur watching someones life unfold in front of them.
Alex Cross series keep you interested the entire time. Not a dull moment in the book and after every chapter, ever page, every sentence James Patterson leaves you looking and waiting for the next twist and turn of events. Absolutely an outstanding author and this books keeps his reputation in full swing! FANTASTIC!
