Synopsis
In the 11th Alex Cross thriller, a serial killer targets women in Los Angeles who pay more attention to their showbiz careers than to their children, and announces their deaths via e-mails signed "Mary Smith." Publisher's Note
FBI agent Alex Cross is on vacation with his family at Disneyland when he gets a call from the Director. A well-known actress was shot outside her home in Beverly Hills. Shortly afterward, an editor for the Los Angeles Times receives an e-mail describing the murder in vivid detail. Alex quickly learns that this is not an isolated incident. The killer, known as Mary Smith, has done this before and plans to kill again. Right from the beginning, this case is like nothing Alex has ever confronted. Is this the plan of an obsessed fan or a spurned actor, or is it part of something much more frightening? And particularly baffling, how could a woman be capable of these vicious crimes? Members of Hollywood's A-list fear they're next on Mary's list, and the case grows by blockbuster proportions as the LAPD and FBI scramble to find a pattern before Mary can send one more chilling update. Filled with the ruthless and shocking twists that make his fans hunger for more, MARY, MARY is James Patterson's most sophisticated thriller yet.

      Very Enjoyable Alex Cross Novel!

I'll make this brief, for those familiar with James Patterson and Alex Cross, this is a welcome addition to the series - a very enjoyable read! It's your regular Patterson Who-Dunnit and you surely won't be disappointed! The saga between Alex and his ex continues into areas that make you downright angry, but.... concerning that, it has a suprise ending that I won't mention.

For those not familiar with Patterson or Cross, then this is really a quick and exciting read that will leave you guessing until the very end...maybe. Patterson doesn't leave you in the dust either. You can pick up this book and still not be lost in the series. If anything, it makes you want to pick up the books from the beginning of the series. It would be worth your while to do so. Getting to know Alex Cross is a good thing, he's gone through a lot! Nonetheless, Mary, Mary is recommended for a quick murder/mystery fix and I can't wait for The 5th Horseman coming out in February, the next book in the Woman's Murder Club series!

MARY, MARY - best of James Patterson's YET!

Oh what a tangled web we weave...." And what a story JP weaves for us in Mary, Mary! It's a fast-moving, easy read, as Patterson is not one for a lot of detail. The driving plot moves forward at warp speed and is totaling engaging. The format makes much of this possible – with short chapters and great printing (lots of white space).

Once again, James Patterson has written an electrifying novel following his well-know character, Alex Cross. As an avid reader of all Patterson’s novels, I have to say this is so far my favorite! His latest book, MARY, MARY, follows the style of his other novels with, of course, a truly unexpected, thrilling climax. Filled with the ruthless and shocking twists that will make you hunger for more, MARY, MARY is James Patterson’s most sophisticated thriller yet!

I knew I could set the book down anytime and easily pick it up again and find my place. Problem was--I didn't want to put it down.
