Mary Magdalen by Anne Catherine Emmerich

I have always been fascinated by Mary Magdalene and her presence in the life of Jesus, yet, there has been very little information written about her. Until now.....
This book is fascinating and helps put things into perspective about Mary Magdalene's role in biblical history. The book was based upon visions received by Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, the visionary and stigmatist from the 1700's, who is awaiting canonization from the Catholic Church. Anne Catherine had visions of what many saints in history experienced, Mary Magdalen being one of those. Little known facts are divulged in this book, including information about Mary's family; how she was treated by local townfolk; her mental state of mind; her spiritual downfall; overcoming sin and many other interesting facts.
All in all, this is a great, informative book, and I couldn't put it down. I have since loaned this book to other people and it has also won rave reviews from them. It is written in easy to understand verbiage, and is quite fascinating. I highly recommend this book.
