Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman - Volume 1 (DVD, 2007, 3-Disc Set)

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the episodes in the set....it was good quality recording, and I enjoyed recalling how much I enjoyed Mary Hartman Mary Hartman years ago when it was on TV...it is the type show that people either loved or hated - there was no in-between...My only disappointment came when I had viewed the last show in the set...and was left with so many clift hangers because it does not include all of the shows (which I expected it would)...My disappointment was made greater when I could find NO Volume 2 anywhere...I ordered Fernwood Tonight thinking maybe it would be there since the show was set in Fernwood - wrong assumption. Again, Volume 1 is great, but I am not sure that I would have ordered it if I had known that it was not a complete set of all of the Mary Hartman Mary Hartman shows.

The characters are a hoot, and a lot of times, things don't turn out quite as you expect. The only thing I didn't like was the hostage situation. They played that one out FOREVER practically.

If you are of a certain age, you will remember "Mary Hartman..." with a warm and fuzzy feeling! Poor Mary,and yes her live is as bad as you remember. The show was a ground breaking premise and after watching a few shows ,you can see where today's hit comedys got their ideas. The cast was just perfect and so many of the actors are still hot today,and you can see where they started to hone the craft. I totally recommend this DVD and cannot wait until the next volume is released.

This spoof of soap operas had some really clever characters. Not knee slapping humor but very enjoyable watching. And you have to watch closely or you may miss part of the fun. Audio and video quality is very good.

I enjoyed the old tv shows and Mary Hartman was one of my favorites. I was so happy to find it on EBay and bought it. It was in perfect shape and I am very happy with my purchase.

Watching these DVDs is just like watching a weekend marathon of the series on TV back in the 70s. Can't wait for Volume 2 to come out. Have wasted money on a couple of poor quality (color was awful, sound was yucky) videotapes, all I could get until Spring 2007. I'm impressed by the quality of reproduction on DVDs.

I bought this DVD because I loved this hilarious show when I watched it in my early 20s. The show came on Monday - Friday at 11:00 p.m. in our market area, and I would always be sure to be home by then so I could watch it.

A surprise to me has been that the joke timing has been thrown off without the commercial pauses. I haven't yet watched the entire DVD, but so far it has not amused me nearly as much as it did when I was younger. Maybe when I get further into the episodes, I will once again find the hilarity I remember.

anybody who grew up 70's should remember this show it was one of the lowest budget tv shows around then but it was fun to watch

I watched this show first run in the 70's
It mught not be everyones cup of tea. The humor is a bit off center for most people . Sort of like me so i get it.
It is still as weird and funny today ans it was then

I used to watch this show in 1974 and loved the satire on all the other Soap Operas out there. Really have enjoyed watching it again. Norman Lear... Rocks
