I bought this book for a class, a great compilation of Marx and Engels' work. A worthwhile read. Interesting theories about capital, alienation, etc..

I bought this book for a 19th C. PHIL class. It's just what I thought it would be. I think more people should have an understanding of this philosophy even if there are some errors in Marx's final analysis.

  Indespensible to any Sociologist
Review created: 09/13/07

Whether or not you agree or disagree with the arguments elucidated within this anthology is unimportant. The writings of Marx transcend debate because his work has been such a lightning rod for political and social change that his impact is undeniable. This text brings together the very best and most relevant writings of Marx, Engels and their collaboration. Tucker has done a marvelous job at bringing the work together in a cogent form that helps to reveal more substance than other compilations.
