Publisher's Note The great thing about these kites, most no larger than an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper, is that they are simple to make and simple to operate, yet they show off an exciting variety of aerodynamic capacities. The triangular Delta Wing flies by the same principles as the space shuttle. Delta Wing Two takes an airfoil shape with curved upper and lower surfaces. Fifteen more kites exhibit the movement styles of leaves, birds, fish, butterflies, frogs, bats, and even a flying pterosaur. Decorate them with felt-tipped pens and stencil the patterns that feature stylized versions of traditional Chinese designs.
