Martha Stewart's Pies & Tarts by Martha Stewart (1985, Hardcover)

I got this book after looking at the competitors' books, such as the pie bible. Martha's book is fantastic. She provides four different pie crust variations, some sweeter or with nuts, as well as some presentational tips. She presents many tarts that feature fresh fruits and cream or pastry cream, with glazes, as well as many baked fruit and other pies. There are nice pictures that help to gauge what the final result should look like. The quality is like some of the best pastry places in New York City or Paris. This is a book for the person who wants fresh, natural-tasting, high quality pies and tarts.

Bought as a Christmas gift for my daughter-in-law who wants to learn to bake pies. it arrived in excellent condition and looked to be very helpful with good recipes and beautiful photography. She loved it.
