All of you who remember going shopping with your parents and stopping to have lunch at the Marshall Field's or Hudson's Restaurant will delight in the compilation of recipes and bits of nostalgia that this book has to offer! Everything from the classic varieties of soups to salads (remember the famous maurice salad and that dressing -- to die for!!) to almond crusted walleye sandwiches, potpies, oven baked meatloaf, and apple strudel! Also included are present recipes from the Marketplace as well as some from Field's Culinary Council - twelve of America's best loved chefs!! Terrific book and some wonderful memories!!!

The Marshall Field's Cookbook by Marshall Field's

I found this book at my daughter's house and looked through it. Such fabulous recipes and easily made. I always look for the recipe that I do not have to go all over the place to find ingredients. This is the one, plus it is the recipes I remember from the restaurants at Marshall Field and Hudson's. Highly recommended for the cook who wants to impress without the stress.

The Marshall Field's Cookbook by Marshall Field's
Review created: 06/05/09

Love Marshall Field and was excited about what the contents would be. Thought this would be a nice, collectible cookbook and item in general from the wonderful department store.
Very attractive and tasteful cover reflecting the feel of Marshall Field.
Great recipes from various well-known contributors/chefs.
Very pleased with my choice/purchase.

A must have cook book for any kitchen
Review created: 06/04/09

I began reading this cookbook in a reception room while waiting for an appointment. I started to copy recipes that looked delicious in pictures and reasonable for an amateur, like me, to prepare. By the time I scribbled out 5 recipes I thought "this is ridiculous--I should buy this book!" After I got to flip through it at my leisure I realized what a great find this book is. There are so many recipes that aren't difficult-but your dinner guest would think so! I enjoy cooking and get tired of eating the same meals. There is enough variation (over 100 recipes) along with complete directions for each recipe. It also interjects interesting tidbits about the culinary history of Marshall Field's This book would make an excellent gift for a new bride or even the gourmet cook.

  Marshall Field's Cookbook

Marshall Fields was the best! We totally miss it...but the great meals keep coming! My wife wore out the first one, everynight for years our meals came from this book. We all gained a bunch of weight but it was totally worth it. Buy this book and your life could be this good (GREAT!) A book cover might make it last longer with a good book cover.

If Macy makes a cookbook...well, just use this one for the rest of your life!!

  The Marshall Field's Cookbook 2006

I have the 1970's looseleaf Marshall Field's cookbook and this is bigger, better and improved. Sorry Macy's bought Marshall Field's but this is a great way to get back to the Walnut Room as well as the food court that Marshall Field's has. Try the Frango Mint Icrcream Pie.

  Great Recipes and Must Have!
Review created: 03/09/07

There are wonderful recipes included in this book and it makes for a wonderful trip dpwn memory lane. Being born and raised in Chicago, it was a tradition to eat in the Walnut Room and purchase a box of Frango Mints. It is sad to say goodbye, but at least I have the cookbook to remember that great store by.
