A distinct departure from the saccharine fare of most sitcom families, the Bundys are a dysfunctional bunch of malcontents, who struggle to get along with each other and stay afloat in the world. Their patriarch, Al (Ed O'Neil), had his glory days back in high school as the star of the football team, and now makes his living as a shoe salesman. He spends his spare time watching way too much television, impervious to the amorous advances of his wife Peg (Katey Sagal), a former cheerleader and Al's high school sweetheart. Their daughter Kelly (Christina Applegate) is a blonde bimbo, and their son Bud (David Faustino) is a sexually frustrated misfit; Marcy D'Arcy (Amanda Bearce) is their meddlesome neighbor. In the third season, Elvis fans see the image of the King in a sweat stain on Al's shirt; Al and Peg dine and dash; Kelly must tap dance for an audience of nerds; and Peg endeavors to be Prom Queen at her high school reunion, no matter what it takes. Episodes include: "He Thought He Could," "Poke High (aka The Red Grange Story)," "Her Cups Runneth Over," "Eatin' Out," "The Dateless Amigo," and "Life's a Beach."

Funny beyond words, you can watch it again and again. The first show about an overdue library book from the 50's and a cranky old librarian, will Al pay the fine or let the family down? Loved seeing little Al just as you'd think he was. Funny yet ridiculous is the way Al sweats Elvis on his shirt, a mockery of the people holding on to the king for to long. Funniest of all is the camping episode where the poor men get stuck in a cabin with the three women during "their time of the month". Made me laugh til I cried at all the woman cliques, true with a twist of the male cruelty. These were my favorite shows but the others were just as funny in there own way.

IT IS SO NICE TO HAVE THIS COMPLETE COLLECTION OF THE 3RD SEASON OF THIS CLASSIC COMEDY TV SHOW. BUT, SHAME ON SONY PICTURES FOR CHANGING THE OPENING CLASSIC THEME SONG ""LOVE AND MARRIAGE'' TO SOME LAME INSTURMENTIAL! IDOITS AT SONY!! SHAME!!! THE THEME SONG IS PART OF THE MARRIED SERIES THAT WE FANS HAVE ALL GROWN UP WITH. OTHER THEN THAT, THE SERIES ITSELF IS FUNNY. ALL FANS WOULD AGREE, IM SURE. ITS WORTH THE BUY,JUST SKIP PAST THE THEME! Ratfink620

A lot of people don't like this show. I don't understand why they don't. Just take it with a grain of salt.

I got this DVD to expand my collection.
