Lots of Info if You Have Someone in the Military
I happened to find this book on the shelves of the local library and bought it home for my daughter-in-law since my son had recently joined the Marine Corps. Coming from a family who'd never been involved in the military, she was totally clueless about anything to do with it.
The book sat for awhile and when I gave her a gentle reminder that I'd eventually have to take it back, she picked it up. That was all it took. She couldn't get her nose out of it. About half way through the book, she informed me she wanted a copy for herself because the information was just too valuable not to keep on hand.
She talks about day-to-day issues such as pay, health and child care, understanding acronyms, relocating, deployments, and other facets of married life that are affected by military service.
As a new military wife who's not on a base and doesn't have a support system around her, this book provided lots of good useful and detailed information.
