The Mark of Zorro (DVD, 2003)

It's a classic with Tyrone Power, one of my favorites. A lot of sword fighting and romance with Linda Darnell. It's black & white and that adds to the nostalgia. Easily recommended.

Tyrone Power and Basil Rathbone could buckle a swash with anyone and do so in this class film - with vim and vigor. Linda Darnell is gorgeous in one of her first film appearances and Eugene Pallete is a superb (sword-wielding) family priest. But more to the point, the story moves briskly and is both interesting and fun to watch. I highly recommend it to those who like adventure, costume and excitement in films.

This edition deserves a special thumbs up, other movies in he "Studio Classics" releases only have movie trailers as extra features. This dvd however contains Tyrone Power's biography (around 45 minutes) from the Biography Channel, which as we know is a channel known for it's comprehensive biographies! Also very noteable is that Spanish is available as a spoken language. Meaning they dubbed the whole movie in Spanish, which is a treat as all my other movies from this, "Studio Classics" Collection only come with English as the spoken language.

So, for Biography Channel's Tyrone Power Biography, and Spanish dubbing, this movie is delightfully better than your standard dvd release from 20th Century Fox.
