The most fun I've had while playing a racing game!

I loved the original Mario Kart games, and this one has to be the best in the series. There are tons of racing options (16 levels x2 because you can unlock mirror mode), tons of unlockable characters and cars, an unlockable Ultimate Race mode where you must race all 16 tracks one after another.

Where this game really succeeds is in multi-player mode. You can play against up to 4 friends in the classic battle mode, shine thief mode (like hot potato), and Bob-omb Blast. There are 6 Battle Mode tracks to choose from, all with their own unique characteristics.

You can also play on the same team and race through Grand Prix mode (the person on the back of the car controls weapons and the ability to punch opponents), or play against up to four of your friends in Grand Prix mode.

The Single player Grand Prix mode offers quite a challenge due to the fact that you must beat 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc to unlock Mirror Mode and the final cheats. The basic Cups are here and each one (Mushroom Cup, Flower Cup, Star Cup and Special Cup) offer 4 different courses. There is also the All Cup Tour where you play all 16 course in random order (This get's extremely tough in 150cc and Mirror mode). Due to the fact that you have to race through each set of courses at 4 difficulties, the Replay Value of this game is very high.

- Character specific Power Ups
- Replay value is incredibly high (Even more so if you have friends that enjoy Mario Kart)
- Not Super Hard, but not Super Easy either
- Graphics are great
- Each Map has it's own shortcuts and secrets
- The 2 characters per car set-up and the ability to fully utilize your second player in 2 player team mode
- Power Boost during sharp turns
- The celebrations (Not bad... for a baby)

Cons:

- Rainbow Road (I fell a lot when I first played the game)
- The Blue Tortoise shell
- The music can get a little repetetive
- The trophy presentation screen, when you pan in, the pink thing looks like... well you'll figure it out.

Are you serious, this game is a definite buy. Mario Kart: Double Dash ROCKS. Plain and simple. I bought it 2 1/2 years ago and I still play it at least once a week.

Unlockables, multiplayer, fairly long to beat, I'd say it's a great buy! I myself do not have it but i will soon. So get it. It's a great game.

This Game is great because of its many good points. The Graphics are great for the time period it came out. The extras you can unlock are easy to get, but fun to have. And then have your friends over, yo will really see what FUN is. Win and you get Bragging Rights. Case-in-point, a great game and a must have for racing lovers.

Great game. I like the specials you are aloud to use. Also battle is really fun with a couple of people.

Mario Kart: Double Dash is a continuation of the popular Nintendo racing series that first came on the scene when it was made for the Super Nintendo. The orginal game was amazing, and I can assure you nothing has changed since then. Double Dash is different then most racing games in that you drive one kart, but have two passengers. This totally takes the gameplay and adds both fun and complexity. Just a basic rundown of the game: there are 16 tracks in single player (although you can have the option of running each track backwards), there are 21 karts (some have to be unlocked), 20 characters (some have to be unlocked), and 3 modes in multiplayer with 6 different tracks (some have to be unlocked). As you can see, another thing Nintendo improved upon was adding tons of unlockables to the game giving it more replay value. For those who have never played a Mario Kart game, the game is basically straight up racing, execpt you pick up boxes that give you the ability to wreck other drivers. To put it simply, if you are in last place on the last lap, you still have a chance at first place! The single player is great, very long and fun, but the multiplayer is AMAZING. When you get 3 of your friends or family locking heads in a race it is chaos, in a good way. The battle modes are insane, for instance one of the modes consists of one person having to hold onto a star for an amount of time while everyone else is out to get them. If they lose the star, the star is up for grabs and the next person that picks it up is then the target. I really can't say enough about this game, if you have a gamecube buy it, you will not regret it!

The best racing game for Gamecube and Wii. Even has nice 2 players at same time co-op. If you don't want to spend $$$ on Wii Mario Kart, get this one. Wii version didn't seem a drastic change. GC games will work on Wii anyway.

My son loves this game. It keeps him very entertained with many different races and battling. We purchased this game since it is appropriate for his age level and because racing is his favorite type of video game.

I really like this game because you have a choice of Mario Bros. characters to choose from and each character has their own strengths & weaknesses ... so you can try different tactics with the different characters -- keeps things interesting! The temporary bonus stuff you collect can change a losing race into a winner ... with timing and luck using the collect stuff properly. FAST enough action to be fun ... SIMPLE to play - means fun without hitting a zillion buttons. A MUST BUY!

Kick back and relax with the boys. This is a game you and your six year old will enjoy. Pleanty of action to intertain and adult, and easy enough for a child to opperate. Recommended for ages 4 and up.... Buy this one! You will be glad you did!

Mario games never get old to me and this is one of my favorite ones! I personally own just about every Mario Game ever made and love playing them. I really recommend that you buy this one because it is a really good one!

Extremely fun game with rather entertaining graphics. I'm not big into playing games at all, but I enjoyed every minute of this one. Double Dash is set up for the extremely novice as well as the advanced. It has enough variety throughout to keep your attention until you've won the game.

My son borrowed this game from one of my co-workers and just loved it. It was too much to buy brand new. I was finally able to win this game at a price I could afford. I received this game in excellent shape with the booklet included. Case was in great shape. My son still doesn't realize that it is a used game. I would recomend buying from this seller. The game is totally rocks (this comes from my 7 year old).

This is fun for any fan of the original mario kart. Its great for the whole family. It works great with the logitech steering wheel also. A must have in every gamecube owner's collection.

The game has great graphics, with many combinations of characters, carts and levels. I think the best way to play is multiplayer, where you can ride against your friends and CPUs at the same time. I love the items in the game, and the shortcuts are spectacular. There is nothing in this game that parents would find offensive, and the driving is every bit as fun as Grand Theft Auto. All in all, the game is definentily worth buying at almost any price

Mario Kart: Double Dash is a fun multi-player game for the whole family. You get to play as all the classic Mario characters as you race go-karts and try to hit each other with items. Nintendo improved on the earlier Mario Kart games by adding more characters, more variety in the go-karts, and added a new 2-players style of racing. You can now pick two characters to use in a race, one character drives with the other throws items. This is especially fun when playing with other people because one person can control the driving while another person collects items and tries to hit other players with them. Bottomline - Mario Kart: Double Dash is a fun game and worth buying, especially if you are going to play with other people.

My cuz and i played this game for hours when ever he came over. it was so awsom we were like on a roll!! guess how long it tuck us to beet it well sence we did 2 players (i drove and he was on the back bumping people) LOL ok it only took us like 2 months to beet it becuse he barly came over my house. ;-( but seriusely we loved it and thought it had the best graphics and realy good stering like sometimes it is hard to turn or some times it is hard not to trun but it was just right! it was kool when we beet it becuse the back round when it says press start it was all like black in the back round and differnt characters. it was awsom!!!!

i so think that people that havent rented this game or bought it should do ether. u will have great results and i wish that they made a second one me and my cuz would beeet it just like the old days! yeah the old days ya gotta love them. LOL Cya!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .

If you own or have played Mario Kart you know you have to get this game. The only racing game I can't think of the might rank with this one is F-Zero GX. I love how partners ride with you and can give you an edge. More characters, cars and tracks makes every race unique. I bought this game because I wished to own the best GameCube games. I went through many people's suggestions and this was one that always came up. If you own a GameCube or Wii you must have this one.
