Dr. Brian Weiss was a successful and conservative psychotherapist when he met the subject of his book, Catherine, a young woman having problems with anxiety and depression. After exhausting his usual course of treatment with no success, Dr. Weiss turned to hypnotherapy. While under hypnosis, Catherine began speaking of a place she referred to as "between lives," a realm of spirit guides who had messages for this world. She also spoke of her own past lives and described events that could possibly explain her current phobias and fears. Dr. Weiss was understandably skeptical until Catherine began telling him about his own deceased son. With this verifiable information, Dr. Weiss felt he had discovered his life's work: to educate the world about past lives and their potential for healing. Dr. Weiss weaves science and metaphysics into a well-paced narrative that reads more like a mystery than nonfiction. Throughout the engrossing plot, Dr. Weiss builds a strong case for his theory that past lives can unconsciously influence present-day living. MANY LIVES, MANY MASTERS has become a classic in the field of reincarnation studies and past-life therapy.
Publisher's Note Dr. Weiss was skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas. But as he began working on past-life therapy, and the patient began channeling messages about Dr. Weiss's family and dead son, his skepticism eroded. Curing his patient, Dr. Weis embarked on a new, more meaningful phase of his career. | Find errors in the product description? Submit a catalog update request now. | ||||||||||||||||

I don't even know how to begin... but this book came to be in my hands in a most unusual way, brought to work by a student nurse ( her instructor would have been most upset not just that she brought a non school related book to clinical but this subject would have put her right over the edge). I read a bit during breaks and went right our to get it after work, I would have finished it that night but forced myself to put it down as I had to be to work at 6:45 am. But that is not all a dear friend had recently died and I had been praying/ thinking that reincarnation had to be real at least for some as my friend died young troubled and in an accident. Within days this book was there for me. It is awesome, Dr. Weiss has the ability to write like this was a novel that you just can't get enough of. I will NEVER sell mine. I have read it many times and will again. Review ID: 10000000001313112 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 08/03/08 by: This book was recommended to me by a friend and I didn't really know what the content was going to lead up to when I bought it. When I realized the subject matter that the book was getting at, I wasn't sure I wanted to believe the story, but I'll admit that it opened me up to the possiblitiy of reincarnation and that we could be affected today by experiences that we had in a prior life. I honestly couldn't put the book down. Review ID: 10000000008175177 Was this review helpful? Report this review This is the first of Dr. Weiss that I have read. And his writing was difficult at first. I have been reading the Sylvia Browne books and Dr. Weiss's book certainly has a different approach. B.
